We have a distributed setup of Proficy servers which generate their own cor_recstat.clg log files.
We are planning to create a centralized system which will get the logs from all the servers in real time so that we have a holistic view on what's happening across all the servers.
The hurdle in getting this done is that cor_recstat.clg is not text.
We have tried the two approaches as mentioned in below threads.

this does not translate the date in the output.

this could not be run in the background.. and hence takes up a user license.
This question was last asked long time back(2006) hence asking it again.
Is there a way to convert this file into text with all the data in the background in real time.
Why are these files not text ?. Almost all log files are.
