Options for APU301/302 and DSM302

HI all,
Need some input here. I am not a controls guys per se but know enough to be dangerous. We have 6 separate machines on our plant floor ( I am responsible to keep running) that run 90-30's with CPU 363. In each machine the racks use either the APM 301/302 and DSM 302 or some of the newer machines have a DSM 314 as well. All control a vfd/ac motor for position movements of different axes. My question is it looks like the 301/302 and possibly the DSM 302 are obsolete but the DSM 314 is still available ( and the motion profiles reside in the main plc progarm on this one). In an effort to look ahead if these modules fail I am wondering what the best solution is for getting the system back on line. I can tell you we have spare modules for all of them however, we have PC's that run Windows 7 or XP and we don't have any copies of Logicmaster to download the program ( which we don't have on file) with. So at this point I am looking at these two options unless there are more. Getting a copy of Logicmaster and trying to load on XP or Windows 7 laptop. Then going in and pulling all the motion programs on the modules out and save them electronically. That way if we have a failure we can put a new module in and then load program. Second and not sure if this is a big deal and will cause a lot of integration issues, is replace all the APM 301/302 and DSM 302 modules with the DSM 314 and then build the motion profiles in the PLC program. We are in the process of converting all the machines over to ME 8.0 ( some have Versapro). That way if the DSM 314's fails in the future, it is an easy swap to a new one and don't have to load the project in. Please advise any other thoughts. Thanks
