Draw the "footprint" of an object

Hi.

I need to know how to "mark" on screen the position of an object that is always moving. In my aplication, a dot is moving randomly all around the screen. When a certain button is pressed, the position of the dot must be set on screen (a fixed dot), while the original dot keep moving.

Any help ?
