How do I Start the Dialog Editor?

Hi All,

This is probably a stupid question but how do you start the Dialog Editor in Cimplicity 8.2? I've looked through the help files and there's plenty of information on what to do with but nowhere (that I can find) does it actually say how to start the application?

If anyone could shed any light on this or just point to me to the bit I've missed that would great.

Good Morning all I Just want only to clarify about ARRAY Point.. When I Want to trend Point Select Line Type Point The Description of the Point is PRESENT... Example Line ID (OEC43) Slider Value (1950) Description Left turbine over speed Now when I Change to Line Type Logged the Description is Gone Example Line ID (OEC43) Slider Value (1950) Description No Description .. How can I show the Description in Logged? more power

Hi,

I am running iFix 5.5 with Historian 5.5 on a separate server. I can make charts and trends (permanent) at will, but I would like a way for the client to be able to select from a list of all of the tags being collected by Historian and fine tune the trend time to their liking. Is this possible or maybe even already set up within iFix? I would appreciate either links or tips as well.

PYTHON conect to server.

Hi

I use EXCEL add in , but is not good for long term trends, patrons, and some analisis data.
I use python for simple programing, now im trying to connect to the same server of ihistorian , but with no result.
I try with ihSDK.dll and ihAPI.dll ....
I put pyobdc, but couldnt find the runnig obdc with ihistorian..... also try a example that is around this forum , with no success.


Is there any other aproach to do this ? Any sample? tutorial ?

Im on Win 7 (64 bits) , Excel 2010 (32 bit) , Proficy Add in 4.0.0.127 , python 3.4

Transferring Current iFix Project from Windows XP to 7

We are looking to find a solution to transfer the IFIX project that currently works on a Windows XP computer to a Windows 7 computer.

The last test was unsuccessful, I couldn't get the current value variables into the Process Database.

Can somebody help us with this issue?

Cimplicity 8.0 Alarming

Hi Guys,

I am new to Cimplicity SCADA but I was familiar with HMI.

Now my requirement is to separate / dedicate the alarms to each process or setup in the respective screen.

Prior they have made all alarms to fire on all screens/ all process. Now idea to separate the alarms in the respective screen. In all screens on top, if I click on alarm object, its properties are Link Container and it has Link source file as xxx.cim and Link source Object as Alarm.

Please guide me from the beginning, how they configured the existing alarms also I am not understanding.

I need help please.

ME 8.6 will not open ME 7.5 project

Just installed ME 8.6 and tried to open one of my ME 7.5 projects (which opens fine in 7.5) and it says: 'Unable to open project'.

Any clues about why this would be?

Getting Windows Error Code 1006 on Workspace start..

Hi to all,

when I start my iFix 5.5 Application, I get the error message "Windows Error Code 1006", when the Workspace.exe should start.

When I start the Workspace directly, I get the message.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Proficy\Proficy iFix\Workspace.exe"
The Volume for a file has been externally altered so that the opened file is no longer valid".

The System is running in a vSPhere 5.5 Environment (on a NTFS drive). iFix is running on in a Windows 2008 R2 Server (64Bit) Guest OS.

I already reinstalled iFix 5.5 and get the same result.
I also tried a new application. Same result !

Does anybody know what happen ?

Driver 3A Error

Hi everyone,

I had problem from time to time with 3A Driver. IFix generate such communicate:
Error Number 1160 (00000488)

"Name of the Tag": Driver 3A Service library is not loaded.

This error occurs in webSpace sessions. Have someone found solution for this error ? What can cause this?

WebSpace and TGD issue

Hi Everyone,

I have some problem with loading TGD files in WebSpace sessions.
When the user is logged with Admin privileges account, (firs login to webspace) there is no problem and everything works fine but, when user don't have admin privileges on server then session start without any problems however there is no possibility to load any TGD file. On all Tags I see only ****. What is more interesting when I put the direct address for DataLink object there is no problem with displaying value.
when I load tgd file from script I don't have any message or error nothing... But when I try to open window using openTgdPicture then I have a message tgd file not loaded.
Did someone have similar situation ?

webspace and additional apps

Hi everyone,

During WebSpace configuration I saw that there is possibility to add some additional application to run in web space session. However when I try to add some apps. I get message that this app is not licensed for web space.
What is most important for me is adding osk.exe which is on screen keyboard to make a first login to web space...

Can some one help me with this ?

Tech note of chg from Usemilliseconds to Time Res?

The current historian tag export is a formally documented item here. It gets tested for accuracy whenever there is a change.

The issue is that nobody updated the columns in the Word doc that documents the historian tags when there was a change from Usemilliseconds to Time Resolution.

Given these columns are not correct in the Word doc, the test failed.

To rectify the failure we need to find a tech bulletin or sentence in a revision notes stating that this change took place, over which revisions it occured, what columns should be present, and that if you had all false for milliseconds in the past this would be equivalent of "Seconds" in Time Resolution.

I've called tech support and was told to read the ebooks, which I did. I found it appears a split was when 4.5 came out.

But, this is just a simple statement in the config section stating that false is equivalent to seconds.

I need an actual version notes or something that shows this.

Foreign Tool for Trend analysis, Data from iFIX5.8

Hi

I have to display the trend with an other tool and not with iFIX, but i don't know how can i read the H24 Files and how can i connect my new Tool (Trendviewer) with iFIX 5.8?

just for Information: iFix 5.8 and Trendviewer support both .NET !
