( Microsoft® Visual Studio 2010® SP1 recommended
iFIX 5.5 installed and configured, which installs .NET 3.5 SP1 and .NET 4.0.
iFIX supported operating system with recommended service packs installed

If Visual Studio .NET is installed you will be able to view the iFIX Toolkit Adapter online help )

my problem is that i installed visual studio 2013, and I'm not able to view the iFIx toolkit adapter online help!!

Hello.
I use Crystal Report 11 and Historian 5.5.
I have to create a report on the ihRawData table with Crystal Report for the users.
I filter the data on the TimeStamp field. But Crystal Report generates systematically a request with one "CONVERT (DATETIME, 'mydate') in the WHERE clause that do not understand OLE DB Provider iHistorian.

Has anybody a solution?

Thank you

LM90 V7.0x talking serially to a 9070 from a DOS pc (the good old days, I also have an 8-track playing in the background) - everything works ok except when I go to view the ladder in monitor or online, I get the INTERNAL SYSTEM ERROR DETECTED - etc. Before I open a case with the mothership, anyone remember the usual cause of this?

iFix 5.5 IGS 7.58 Communication Issues

I am using IGS 7.58/iFix 5.5, 10 different PLC's all allen bradley. I am having trouble with one of the channels using an CompactLogix 5300. I keep getting connection timeouts " 'CHANNEL10.CP10' with ID <xxx.xxx.xxx.xx>,1,0 is not responding" then 10-15 seconds later it goes away. I changed the connection timeout to 10 seconds, and Fail after 10 successive timeouts and am still having issues with it. The only reason I bring this up is that the operators are saying this is a huge thing and I cannot convince them otherwise.

I cannot figure out what the issue could be.

IT broke our trend displays

I have a customer with running iFix v5.1 SCADA/View with the standard historian on a single Win7 x32 PC. It had been running fine for over a year. IT recently came through and applied a bunch of security updates which caused a number of issues, most of which they have since cleaned up except one. The trend displays on View screens which link to historian tags do not work any more. The data is still being collected because they have a remote app which can still poll the data. Very odd, the remote PC app works but the local app fails. Any thoughts on possible causes?

Thanks,
-Brad

Hello, looking for some cimplicity scripting help on option buttons for dialog boxes.

Help file below shows an example of three selections. How do I write what was selected to a PLC Point Variable?

Lets say I make a point called "Selection" PLC Address R100 data type integer.

For Example if "10 Watts" was selected and "OK" entered. How do I get a 10 to be written to "Selection"?

GroupBox 8,8,64,52,"Amplifier Output",.Junk
OptionGroup .Orientation

OptionButton 16,32,51,8,"50 Watts",.Fifty
OptionButton 16,44,51,8,"100 Watts",.Hundred

Register custom dot net compoents in Windows 2008 R2

Hi All,

When trying to register a custom dot net component in CimEdit, through the 'dot net component browser' dialog box I get a non descript run time error, before CimEdit terminates.

This only happens on machines running Windows Server 2008 R2 64 Bit. Test systems on Windows 7 Pro 32 bit, with the same installation revision of Cimplicity and SIM packs, can successfully register and run the custom dot net components without a problem.
  • Cimplicity Version 8.20 Build 20503 – Sim 32
  • Proficy Cimplicity - .NET Component Hosting V1.3.0.0

I have read another forum post where the solution to a similar error was to manually uninstall the 'Proficy CIMPLICITY - .Net Component Hosting' program, followed by installation of the latest SIM Pack. This has not solved the issue.

Is there a problem with the 'dot net component browser' in CimEdit running on 64 bit machines? or could this be related to some kind of admin rights issues under windows server?

Fullscreen pictures with webspace

In a new system I'm setting up I use iFIX 5.8 and latest webspace in same scada. When using browser(latest Firefox) a few percent of the pictures are truncated and isn't possible to view at all=no scrollbars. About 10% at the bottom and 3-4% at the right end can't be viewed. When zooming out in Firefox the viewed picture gets smaller but no more of the iFIX picture is viewed.

Ideal is that picture is scaled down so the browser shows 100% of it without scrollbars.

What to do?

I have installed the iFIX and FIX Desktop V3.5 from the CD.
After the installation I double clicked on the iFIX workspace but nothing happens

When double click the View under Fix Desktop I am getting and Error:
iFIX System not started:
Error number: 2147212799 - (80042201).

I have tried starting the FIX service (manually/ Automatic/ Automatic (Delay) from the Servies in Windows but it it keeps displaying 'Starting' and does nt change to started.
I will use the iFIX scada for the first time so not sure what to check before starting the workspace?

Any Help will be very appreciated!

Thanks alot!

Back to Previous Picture With Multiple Displays

Hello,

I'm trying to set up a button to return to the previous opened picture. I followed the instructions of the KB1513, which recommends the use of Me.FullyQualifiedName to get the name of the picture, but when the same picture is opened on both displays this function returns "picture_name1". This name (with the 1 in the end) doesn't work cause this file doesn't exist. I also tried Me.PictureName but observed some inconsistencies in this command event with a recent workspace SIM.

Does anybody know a secure way to get the filename of the picture?

Here is the link of the KB:

Converting Dynamo Sets

Dear community,

Did anybody have success downgrading graphical dynamos (Dynamo Sets)? For example a dynamo set was created on version 5.8 and needs to be running on 5.0.

When I try opening such dynamo set in 5.0 I get an error: "The build number you are using (6667) is trying to open a document that was created with a build number (6864) that is newer than the version that you are using. You should upgrade your software to the newer version to load this document."

Is there anyway of converting such dynamos?
Thank you.

I'm struggling to get iFix 5.8 Alarm ODBC Service to write to SQL Server database.

Are there any walk-though examples of how to set this up? The e-books were not helpful at all.
If no examples exist, has anyone got this to work? if so, can you help by providing some guidance?

Any help will be very appreciated.

How to limit OPC clients access to points using Cimplicity OPC Server

$

I would like to know if there is a way to block the access of points, from OPC Clients with Cimplicity OPC Server.

I read the Help file but could not understand if the "select attibutes" from the OPC Server really works for it because I tried it but the OPC Client could see every single point or attribute from them or I just could add the address and read/write from them with the OPC Client.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Mdobus/TCP performance?

Hi All.

Our RX3i communicates with 4 devices (robots) using Modbus/TCP via ETM001.
I'm trying to maximize comm speed.
Current CPU sweep is around 3.7ms. No limitations on the backplane comm window.

I have tried 2 approaches:

1.
A maximum of 4 commreqs are executed during 1 scan - one per channel. Provided there's no pending commreq on that channel, of course.

=> This approach required 16 (!) scans before it was possible to send another set of commreqs. In other words, update rate of 60ms per channel, which I consider very, very slow.

2.
Only one pending commreq at a time. Start with channel 1; when status word is "1" proceed with commreq for channel 2; etc.

=> Here I got 5 scans between commreqs, which is slightly worse, as it totals ~20 scans or 75ms update rate per channel.

This is with 4 devices only... and we need to add more.

Is this all you can expect with the ETM001 or am I missing something here?
