I just want to see the blocks that have an alarm set. The only column I can find “Alarm Enabled?” Shows ‘NO’ for every block. Whether the Enable Alarming check on the blocks Alarms tab box is checked or not.

Color of Ref. address
To exchange an address number between variables,
I found that only 2 of letter(Ref Address) is yellow color in Inspector window.
In Navigator of Variables, Ref Address is yellow(%AQ0701)
Is there some problem?
How can I fix it?

Connecting Ihistorian database with OLEDB provider in .Net

FixEvent trigger on page open
Hi All,
I have a picure with 11 FixEvent using this configuration:
ErrorMode = 1
EventType = OnDataChange
Interval = 01.00.00
IsSelectable = False
QueueEvents = False
Source = a signal value
Each event use a different signal as Source. The protocol under the signals is EGD.
When the picture is opened, all the FixEvent triggers as the signals have changed values while they have not. Is there any way to avoid this?

Could not Resolve DLL Function Address and Other Error messages
For some reason iFIX 5.0 won't start up on Windows 7 . I just get an error saying "Could not Resolve DLL Function Address". Not the most helpful or informative error message I've received. Does anyone have any idea what's wrong?
I also have a problem with the "User not registered within Security" error message. Of course iFIX won't do anything sensible like letting me access the security config tool to sort it out. Again, does anyone have any ideas?
Finally, I can't shut down iFIX because I'm don't have the required security privilege. And yet again, does anyone have any ideas? Or any idea why we all continue to use this software?

Fix32 on a virtual machine
I'm trying to get an NT4 virtual machine up and running with Fix32 V6.12, but it will not start correctly. The startup log is:

Switching of IP address in MBE using iFIX
Hi all,
I have two modbus devices with an IP each. Both the devices are connected to a ethernet switch and then connected to iFIX SCADA.
In MBE, both the devices are configured in a single device ie, Primary IP 10.132.233.20 & secondary IP 10.132.233.21.
If primary communication is failed, its switching to other. Similarly, I want to swich from 1 IP to other using a command button from SCADA.
Any Ideas??

Wsactask.exe crash all days at 5:00am Ifix 5.5
In a new Upgrade Scada, have this problem whit Ifix 5.5 (Windows 7).
3 times rebuild all, and the same
All days at 5:00am the data in the Scada, not continúe working, and need to restart the Scada.
Just in the event viewer have this error.
we check all PG Blocks and not have a tag that run a task at this time.
Any idea?

Alarm Acknowledgement
Hi people,
I am hoping someone can help me here as it is driving me crazy.
I have an application with current alarms screen that shows when an alarm is present. This used to work but now the alarms are not showing on the screen. I spent a long time on the phone trying to get it resolved with no luck.
What is happening is that when I create a new alarm tag and I toggle the alarm within the PLC this works as expected, the alarm appears when the alarm bit is high and the alarm disappears when the bit is low. This is without any acknowledgement from the SCADA. As soon as I press to acknowledge the alarm it will never show on the alarm page again, it is like it is in a permanent acknowledged state.
I spent a few hours checking the state of the IGS driver and the tags within it, tried with the demo application and this is ok but there is something specific with my application that is preventing the alarms from showing.
Any help is gratefully received.

Alarm Viewer ACK timestamp

I have an Alarm Viewer that shows me the Current Alarms with the timestamp of the alarm, message, comment and if it's acknowledge or not.
My doubt is: how can I show the timestamp of the Acknowledge? Is it possible or do I have to use the Historical Viewer?

Blinking green on light on RX3I processor
I have been using the processor, back plane, 004 com module, and power supply for about 45 days with no problems. I downloaded a converted 90 30 program into the processor and installed it into the equipment today. I am getting a blinking green on light and I cannot load anything to the processor. I can connect to it with the serial cable but downloading kicks me out and I get an error that the processor is off line. We have removed the back plane, power supply, and CPU from the equipment with the same results. Anyone have ant thoughts.

I need to create a DataLink showing only a substring of a TX signal. (eg. I have a 8 chars TX signal and i need to show only 5 chars starting from the second).
Is there any simple way to do it?
I know I can do it programmatically by creating an "on change" event on the TX signal and setting the DataLink caption property in the event handler VBA code but I'm looking for a simpler solution (no events).

SQL Linked Server to Historian 5 (weird tag behavior)
We basically followed the instruction in the e-book to setup a SQL Linked Server to Historian 5 and it's working.
But we're getting some weird data when performing SQL calls. We're using Quickpanel Views as collectors. They transmit to historian just fine. And if we look at data values in Historian, all is well. But if I look at the same tag through SQL, wooo... Case & Point... Two variables (one a BOOL data type and the other a DINT data type) are acting like REAL numbers when viewed through SQL. The BOOL tag should only have values of 0 or 1.. and thats what shows in Historian's Last 10 values. But in SQL, we'll see 20-30 values progressing between between 0 and 1 until it finally homes in and arrives at 1. The same behavior occurs when going back to 0.
It looks like this:

0.0000023
0.0000497
0.0008949
0.0043578
0.0345387
0.6497823
0.9999432
1.0000000
And pretty much the reverse if you go from 1 back to 0. What's the deal? Does SQL not like BOOL values, DINT values or what? What does it like?.. or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Migrate an 3.5 Ifix application to Ifix 5.5
Hello,
I have a couple of 3.5 Ifix applications that I need to convert to Ifix 5.5. Up 'till now, the only way I found effective is to install Ifix 3.5 on a VM, restore the application, then install Ifix 5.5 over the previous installation and finally open it and proceed with the Resolve Files command.
This procedure works fine, but the problem with that is, if I need to convert another application, I have to start over, nem VM, install IFIX 3.5, restore backup, install IFIX 5.5 over previous installation, open app.
I tried to just restore the 3.5 backup in a 5.5 system, it restores fine, but when I configure the SCU to the one in the app and try to open it, I receive the "cannot find dsterror.dll" error, and the app won't start.
Also, I tried to open workspace with another application and, once inside it, try to pass the Resolve Files on the folder that has the 3.5 application and then try to open it, but I receive the same error.
So, my simple question is: What is the standard process to open an application created on the IFIX 3.5 with the IFIX 5.5? Is there any trics?

Versamax Serial to Siemens MP270 HMI
I'm using a Versamax to talk over serial communication read/write to a Siemens MP270 HMI. If I power down the system then power back up, The PLC comm port stops communicating. Also if I stop the HMI and then restart it, same issue. To correct I have to stop the processor, then restart.
Is there a way to automatically detect this and restart the PLC, or re-initiate the communications?
