line breaks in comments when pasting into ladder
I have been trying to resolve the issue of line breaks for a while now, hopefully someone can help with this.
I am using Cimplicity Machine Edition Version 5.0 build 3227 & Excel 2007
Background: I am using excel to document all of my blocks as a means to standardize code across multiple machines. As well as convenient pasting of updated code across multiple projects.
Perhaps i'm going about this all wrong but this has been working for me.
Problem: I can 'select all' ladder code and 'paste' it into an excel spreadsheet. However, when that same code is selected within excel and pasted back into the ladder block all of my comments that have multiple lines are pasted as one continuous line. I then have to 'dbl-click' inside the comment, hit 'Enter', then 'Backspace' and only then do all the line breaks become 'recognized'.
for example: a comment such as,
"Title
Line 1
Line 2"
gets pasted into excel as:
Cell A:1 (COMMENT/* Title)
Cell A:2 (Line 1)
Cell A:3 (Line 2 */; ) Cell B:3 (END_RUNG; )
when pasted back into Cimplicity-Block-Ladder Code it becomes:
Title Line 1 Line 2
After dbl-click, Enter, Backspace it becomes:
Title
Line 1
Line 2
I have tried common syntax such as "\n" to no avail.

Editing .rol files
Hi all,
I would like to change the alarm routing for all my tags. As I have several thousand tags it would be great to do it in Excel or something similar.
However, Excel will not open a .rol file and if I convert it to .csv then when I convert it back the file is incorrectly formatted and will not reimport.
Does anyone know a way to bulk change the alarm routing for all tags without having to do them one at a time in notepad or within cimplicity

VisiconX Error
Hi all,
We are using iFix 4.5 and VisiconX.
We are using the VisiconX grid for displaying info from a stored procedure in SQL called by a VisiconX Data object.
We have a click event on the Vx grid so we can select the data for use.
Sometimes we select the grid we get errors that say property invalid. If I put an error handler around the click even the grid after a while gets unloaded from the picture and leaves a greyed out box and then another error appears saying "Run-Time Error '440' Automation Error".
Can anyone help?

problem :downgrade cmm742 firmware

Is there any restrictions to downgrade IC697CMM742 firmwares from 2.84 version to lower versions?
My cmm742 firmware was 2.81 version(not exactly) . I upgraded its firmware to 2.84 .but I had some problems with new version. So I have to downgrade the firmware version to previous version .Even I tried 2.83 version with no luck. please help me .thanks

Position animation
Hey folks. On 5.1 We were able to do position animation of an object by dragging the object to its new position and then selecting GET VALUE on the animation dialog box. It seems that this is broken in 5.5 because we can not even grab the object to drag it while the dialog box is open. Anyone see this ?

ME 8.0 error 12245
i get error 12245 about setting the LAN type for EGD communications. I look at the Error Help section which says to right click the EGD folder, select Properties and set the LAN type in the Inspector to either Simplex or Dual. But I dont have a LAN type in the Properties . Just Local Producer ID, Local Producer ID (number) and Use Configuration Server (set to FALSE. setting to TRUE displays other options but none of the LAN type). ??

screens linking after upgradation
Dear All,
I have a cimplicity project that was build in 6.10 Service pack 4 which i was able to upgrade successfully :-)
now previously when the system was running on Cimp 6.10 there was a shortcut of Cim view screen on the desktop of the system with the "Layout" now what my client used to do was simply double click that screen and the project started running..
what i mean to say that it was the main screen that was linked to all the screens created in the Cim View..
similarly if they wanted to stop the project they simply pressed the stop shortcut on the desktop..
now my question is that after upgrading it to 8.2 now if i copy that layout screen and paste its shortcut on the desktop will it behave as the same way that it used to like in 6.10 or not???
or do i have to link the screens manually again??

Cimview freezing
Hi everybody.
I'm having some trouble with Cimplicity 8.0 CimView. It works perfectly most of the time, but out of nowhere the screen freezes, at no screen in particular. I don't know where to start looking to see what's happning.
Please help me with some ideas. I'm running WinXP, but Windows is still running normally.

Historical Chart not updated
I have a problem with my historical data chart in iFix, retrieving data from iHistorian.
If I look at a tag in iHistorian Admin tool, I can see that the tag is collecting good data, and if I create a trend in iHistorian Admin tool, I can see the value chaning.
If I now create a trend in iFix for the same tag, I get either a value of 0, or the last value is kept in the chart, not updating.
What can I do to fix this?
iFix version is 5.5 with following SIMS:
iFIX55_Pulse15_SP2.exe
iFIX55_Pulse15_DatabaseManager_002.exe
iFIX55_Pulse15_Networking_002.exe
iFIX55_Pulse15_SAC_002.exe
iFIX55_Pulse15_Workspace_009.exe

OS is WIN7 64 bits.

Not true!
If you get Error 6014, but do not want to use "Enhanced Security", do this:
In the 'Navigator' Window under the 'Options' tab in the section labeled 'LD-PC / View' Rt-Click 'Preferences' and select 'Properties' then chose "Treat As Warning".
Now you can "Download" without "Enhanced Security". :)

Selectable HMI Screens
I am working on a Proficy Machine Edition project with Quick Panel HMI's and RX3i PLC's with a CPE310 CPU. We have a line of three different machines, each having the same hardware configuration but different applications. I would like to create a Proficy ME project that when programmed onto the PLC and HMI allows the user to choose which of the three machines the software is being installed onto, and then selects which HMI panels to display based on this selection. I am looking for tips/methods to achieve this. If anyone can assist, I would greatly appreciate it.

One project is now on commissioning, unfortunately the architecture is: rx3i redundant controller, single Lan, one rx3i ENIU, 15 versaMax cpu E05 as eniu either. Applied solution team already have DD265 and DD273 but, can help again to join the two template into one ? I tried export/import but, can not work on the c block. Or, send the needed c block to local AE ?

%W33 initial value set to 10, stop eniu then download all, start the eniu, the value changed to 50. the application got to use 10 events communication buffer since the soe eniu station report not only events but also third party communicaiton msg and analog inputs so, total EGD limit is considered.

sorry, pls discard this msg, double click DATA_INIT_WORD then know the value overwrite initial setting in W30 properties
