Classic Historian Collection Rate

My Historical Assign groups are all set with a Rate of 30s. However, when I pull up a trend, I see value changes at 10s. How often is the historian actually collecting data?

Also, If I would like to trend data with a 1s resolution, would I be limited to 80 tags?That is my assumption because the group phase must be less than the group rate and I am only allowed one group with 0s phase.

Tag Symbol Question

Hello again message board!

I have a question about parsing a tag symbol...

Say I have a dynamic tag symbol I can change when a button is clicked....

The values are what item you are clicking i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5, and I have other tag symbols representing the actual tag in the pdb....

I want to make one pop-up for all of my items, but I am unsure how to pass my clicked buttons value into a tag symbol...

i.e. - My number symbol is called @NUM@

My items are called @ITEM_1@, @ITEM_2@, , @ITEM_3@, ect...

How can I pass @NUM@ into @ITEM_1@??

i.e. @ITEM_@NUM@@

I have tried something like this - @ITEM_ + @NUM@ + @ to no avail!

Is this even possible??

I thought I saw a forum post about this, but I can't seem to find it!

Please, any advice will help...

CRU320 new Redundancy issues

Dear All,

We at site are facing a issue regarding redundancyn CRU 320. Whenever we try to switchover by using RMX module or by switching the power of the primary CPU rack off, we experience some I/Os changing, which causes the process to be hampered.
The LEDs in RMX are behaving normally as they should. We also upgraded the firmware of our CPU, RMX, ETM, PBM to the latest version available. Still, the situation remains the same.
It has been highly frustrating :mad: , but we have not been able to solve this issue. With the client sitting on our head, we need to resolve and come out of this issue as soon as possible.
Please provide a solution as soon as possible for we are in a dire need of one.

How to show status of redundant ifix collector on ifix picture?

I have two SCADA servers (SCADA001, SCADA002) ver. 5.1 for failover switching, on each server is instal ifix collector wich send data to one historian server (HIST001) ver. 4.5
Colectors are setup for redundancy, On Historian administrator is posibility to set some tags in the database to show a collector status but this work only for main colector, if i want to set tags for backup collector i recive warning that this collector will no longer backup for main collector. How to get status of backup colector in to ifix picture?
I try with VBA code usung ihSDK.dll, but i can get only a status (Running, Unknown,..), i dont know how to get redundancy status (active - standby) and report rate (number)?

Need help with Dynamo and DataLink

Hi. I'm working on a Dynamo that contains a DataLink. I'd like to be able to change the number of decimals in the user form but from what I'm seeing it isn't possible via VBA. I'm hoping I'm wrong. Is there a way? If so, how do I do this?

I have looked high and low to find a simple way to summarise my data as I go.

Is it possible to do basic maths between data links?

eg.
VisDatalink1 =10
VisDataLink2 = 2

SomeTextbox = VisDatalink1+VisDatalink2 = 30

Currently I am doing a lot of repeated calcs within the datalinks :mad:

Multilin 350 and MBE 7.17i can't read address 04096

I am trying to read register 04097. The value in the register is 0. According to Datascope:
The request is 00 07 00 00 00 06 FE 01 10 00 00 01
The reply is 00 07 00 00 00 08 FE 01 10 00 00 01 E0 05

The error received is "Recieved message did not match the data block"

I used Simply Modbus to verify if I could read or write data to the register and I am able to. The request and reply match the above results.

In the device the on value is FF00 and off is 0. The hex address is 1000 and is offset by 1. I was told to use function 5.

Any help provided would be greatly appreciated.

Need Floating Point Calculation

I'm trying to read a Siemens Double Word that is supposed to be sending a value of -10.00 to 10.00.
I can use the OPC power tool with either a Float or Double datatype to bring it in through a third party OPC server (IBH Softec). The only reading I can get is something roughly like 3.2e9 or 3,200,000,000.
Looks like it could be a swapped double word so I think I need to do a manual calculation. Does anyone have a premade word swap calculation for a single precision floating point value?

Hi all, I'm getting an error on a remote node whenever I try an access historical data: Error [-7 : Invalid username and/or password] from Historian server [ iHist ].

Global Search & Replace iFIX v5.5

Hello

Has anyone had any luck successfully running the Global Search and Replace tool with iFIX v5.5?

I can get the .dll to register, the toolbox will open, but when I try to actually perform a search and replace I get the following error:

-2147211509
"There is no active document opened."

I have all the current SIMs installed and up to date.

This is with a Windows 2008 Server R2 64-Bit setup.

Any ideas?

Problem trend on Operator Console

Hello,
I using PPS2.1 with Cimplicity with 1 EWB and 3 Operator console.
The problem is in the all operator console, trend value in the AI or PID faceplate not show also in the quick trend but in the EWB the trend value work normally.
Is there any setting?

Rx3i as Profibus Slave

Dear I need a help with PBS301 module. we add it to our project and assign it a profibus slave address and 1 byte on digital out. any master on the network can detect it but there are not able to establish a connection. the mod status of module is blinking fast and nothing else and profibus ok led is green.
but for strange reason even with a short connection between a master and the rx3i profibus slave module :confused:


so if anyone know how to make this module work or have a sample project to see if something is missing I will appreciate that.

sqlopen error code 3146

I run the script that open connection and send sql query every minute using Event Manager.

Exactly every 10 minutes I get "Error Code 3146"
Start Time:
12/13/2013 12:20:07 Error at line 42; Error Code 3146
12/13/2013 12:10:06 Error at line 42; Error Code 3146
12/13/2013 12:00:08 Error at line 42; Error Code 3146

Line 42 contains sqlopen function. All other events run without a problem.

Did anyone get something similar?

If I run the script every 30 seconds, I get 2 errors per 10 minutes. Both within a minute.

Rx3i NIU and IC694APU300

I am trying to send Preset ON values for a Type C Counter on an IC694APU300 using COMREQ's. I am using the COMREQ's in the Local Logic Routine of a RX3I NIU+ using ME8.0 Sim4. It worked just fine in my office. Send COMREQ, move 0 to status word, wait for 1, then send next COMREQ.

Preset ON 1, Command Code 010B
Preset ON 2, Command Code 010C
Preset ON 3, Command Code 010D
Preset ON 4, Command Code 010E

In the real system, I receive a module error, with a Status Code of 3 (Invalid Command)
I am at a loss to why this will not work (Exact Code but tied to CPU)
The manual does not have any more help other than the Invalid Command Error.
I have looked and none of my EGD should be interfering with Address Ranges.
If I overide fault off to allow my routine to run, the COMREQ's process each time but the module error code still comes up with error code 3.
Any ideas??

iFix - Screen Delay

Hi people,

I changed the Main screen (.grf) and i note a Delay when i change from others screens to the main screen.

Analyzing the backup file, it have 13 MB size while the new file have less 2 MB size.

The resolution of development is lower than the resolution where my iFix run, i think that this is the cause of Delay.

You confirm what i the suspect? If not, what can be causing the problem ?

Can I set the screen resolution (i'm using Ifix 5.1 Workspace) ? If yes, how i do it ?
