HistorianIssue

Hi

i will able to connect some Historian throuhg in .net Scripting.

i used the below Connection string
Provider=iHOLEDB.iHistorian.1;USER ID=;Password=;Data Source=" + IpAddress + ";";
i am getting some error like API timeout.

i enterer same Historian Ipaddress in my Local Historian.i am able to connect the historian.

why i am getting error from in my connection string?
any one can help me my issue.

How do I modify the port popup to show relevant config parameters instead of baud rate and parity. Alternatively, the Device popup as GE have done for S90TRIPLEX?

Keypad Script Error

I am trying to build a custom keypad entry, I am trying to right a Point data from the keypad to a Screen Variable this is the code I am envoking on my enter button

recipe control panel

Is there a way to have my operators select a recipe and not be able to modify the parameters, I select download only for the recipe control box but it always allows them to modify the recipe

iFix crash after SIM install

Hi all!

My installation architeture:
SCADA Server (Windows Server 2008 R2)
TS Clients acessing by Remote Desktop

After install update "iFIX55_Pulse15_Workspace_012.exe" and "iFIX55_Pulse_ClassicHistorian_002A.exe" i can not open Workspace in the SCADA node.

After installing two packages "SUMQDEL" service does not run and the alarm screen does not fill and therefore alarms might not be recognized.
Still, it was possible to connect trough the clients.

I tried to repairing the updates, and after this i can not perform iFix Scada on the server and clients.

Which path should I take to solve this problem?
Is there any way to unistall the SIM's?

Using a PDF as a Pic (.grf) on 5.1

Hello.

I have a plant map saved as a PDF. I want to put that PDF on my iFix 5.1 clients so people can click a button and view the map. How can I do that?

I know how to make buttons. It's getting the PDF to come up looking like a map (a PIC or .grf) that I need help with.

2- Are there any differences between “ Proficy Edition Machine ” and “ Cimplicity Edition Machine “ ??

Problems with opening/Closing Picture

Hi,

I just have the problem, that when the operator is changing the pictures quiet fast. In this case, the complete internal memory is cleared (all StringArray() which are preload for some text functions.

This happens in a screen, which will make query in a sql database to load the screen and combobox.

I guess, the Picture_Initialze is still active, during unload of the actual picture and load of the next picture.

Is there a way to avoid such a situation.

Edit:Is is a good way, to move the code into Picture_InitialzeConfigure
->Not a way, because Configure will only execute during Develop Time

Virtual Keyboard pop up

Hi,

I am using a flat panel type computer and require the virtual keyboard for login and numeric entry. I would like to call up the keyboard automatically when object is selected. Does anyone have any good methods? I don't want to use the windows task bar (full screen mode)
iFix5.5 embedded, mytsoft keyboard.

Annoying ME 8.0 issues

Dell Precision M6800, Win7 64bit, ME 8.0 SIM 7

All of these have shown up over the past few weeks. I don't think I had these issues after the initial installation. Did not use any other SIM before 7, fresh install of ME 8.0 then SIM 7 on a brand new laptop. It's weird but it's like ME is slowly loosing it's mind. Hoping maybe someone else has seen these and knows of a fix:

1 - Cannot restore/backup from/to some network drives. I have 4 network drives I can access at my work. 2 are mapped when I boot, I can see both these drives in ME including any USB drives plugged in. 2 are mapped when I log into Novell, I cannot see them in ME no matter what. I've even tried making a shortcut that points to the drives on my desktop and when I use it it tells me it cannot find the drives. All drives can be accessed by any other program.

2 - Cannot scroll logic with wireless Microsoft mouse. Can scroll the projects window, InfoViewer, etc fine. I can use another wired mouse, and it works fine. I can sometimes get the logic to scroll if I roll the crap outa the wheel, like 20 times around it it moves 1 rung.

3 - Opening Excel files stored in the project open as Read Only. We keep an excel file in the "Documentation Files" folder to track program changes we make. Now when I open it, it opens as Read Only and it won't let me save it even as different name to the same folder.

This machine does automatic updates with security updates from our work, so I don't know if those are what is to blame here. I really don't want to reinstall ME. Anyone else seen these issues??

License service startup

Good Morning,
i have a problem with a server client architecture (cimplicity 8.2 sim 24):
the viewer starts up 40 sec after boot, i have the license service configured as automatic(delayed) and the hmi service depends on the license service.
but at start-up, the license software can't find the license, so there is no connection to the server project, everything is black etc.
if i restart the licensing service, it all works fine.
if i run showlicense.exe, there are differences between cached and direct.
Sometimes it happens that it starts correctly, but it's random.
it's probably a timing issue, it can't start the viewer process because it can't see license

Extract data from Historian for SCADA

Hi,

My client has been using Historian for SCADA 4.5. I've access to folder with all archives and my goal is to extract data to MS SQL or Excel.
In this folder:
- lots of .iha archives
- one .ihc configuration file

Do I need to install Historian ODE DB for those operations ? Could I get any hit for this ?

I will appreciate Your help.

Errors from poor connection?

I am occasionally getting multiple error messages on one, and only one, of my machines from iHistorian

Error number -2147212790 (8004220a) Error (-2 API Timeout) from iHistorian server
Error number -2147212790 (8004220a) Error (-3 NOT CONNECTED) from iHistorian server

I see no problem with the trends, this machine is a plant wide board that has the same pic running all the time so I'm not sure if that is a factor.

It speaks of a connection error, is it saying a network connection or some proprietary connection to the iHistorian ?

CPE305 System Fault

Hi all,

I have an issue with the CPE305 module that I installed on a RX3i PAC. This morning I attached the ethernet module ETM001 on a slot where before an analog output module (IC693ALG392) was attached. When switched on the PAC the CPE305 signalized a system fault. The error message is

Description: System configuration missmatch
Error code: 1
Group: 11
Action: 2: Diagnostic
Task Num: 9
Fault Extra Data: 01 5a 08 1c 80 12 14 06 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

I assume that the controller was in run-mode before I turned it off and that when I turned it on again it started running with a wrong configuration (ETM001 on a slot where ALG392 was expected).
Now I can't get the controller running again. Unattaching all modules (except PSD040 and CPE305) and downloading the correct system configuration to the controller didn't help.

Does anyone have an idea of what to do here?
A response would be very appreciated.

SI7 and Windows Server 2012

The actual version of iFix (5.8) is compatible with Windows Server 2012 but the SI7 driver 7.45b can not be installed on Server 2012. Is there any workaround or SI7 update planned in near future in order to solve this compatibility issue?

Double precision var

Hi,

I'm trying to read a LREAL (64 bit) from a GE RX3i into a Cimplicity point.
The point is defined in Cimp' as REAL (there's no better matching option...).

However the value is messed up in Cimplicity.
I suspect it's only reading 32 bit (single precision instead of double).

Help anyone? :confused:
