Dynamic Colours in a trend
Is it possible to have trend segments in different colours in the trend object.
I can see how to change them colour of a whole line setLineDisplay but I don't see any method to change the colour of a section of a line.
eg while a condition is true, say product = X, or say between 4:00am and 6:00am the trend is blue otherwise it is yellow.

How to delay closing but not opening of a tag?
Hi,
I've got an input and an output tag. I wanna delay the closing of the output tag when the input tag closed but I want the output tag to open as soon as the input tag opens.
I tried to use DeadTime (DT) datablock but it delays both ways ! What's the easiest solution you would think about to do that?

Grayscale bitmaps
Can a Quick Panel View runtime application display grayscale bitmaps?
Background: I have been displaying bitmaps from a Cognex 2D barcode scanner. The scanner transmits the image to a CF card in the QP via FTP. On command I use the "ChangeBitmap" function to refresh the image on the QP. It has been working until I upgraded the firmware on the Cognex scanner. With the new firmware, the "ChangeBitmap" function causes the View runtime application to crash.
I can open and view the bitmap using the QP's built-in image viewer. If I open the bitmap from the Cognex scanner in MS Paint, save it as 256 color bitmap and then send it to the QP, the View runtime application can handle it without any problems.
I'm still experimenting, but it looks like there is something in the grayscale bitmap from the Cognex that the View runtime application doesn't like.
Has anyone else run into this? Does anyone know if it has been addressed in recent Proficy ME versions. The current View Runtime application is PME 7.0, because that's the facility standard at the moment. If something in PME 8.0 or 8.5 fixes the problem it could be ammunition to get the facility to get current with PME.

iFix 3.5 Workspace - Out of Memory issue
Hei der,
we are experiencing Out of Memory issues from ReplacePicture, and the line PictureObj.ActiveWindow.ReplaceDocument2 NewPicture, TagGroupFileName.
I am wondering which memory limit we are exceeding? Where can I monitor the threshold, and say, don't open a picture if memory is too low?
Unable to see definition for .ReplaceDocument2, but it obviously does not handle Out of Memory errors?
Think we have all latest and greatest SIMs installed.
Have seen the same issue on iFix 5.5 also, Windows 7 with brand new HW, 32Gb RAM etc...

Datalink Format - 2 lines?
I tried to get a datalink in raw format to display its data in 2 lines by using
This didnt work.
I believe the formatting is C from printf so I hoped it would work like that but alas no.
Is this expected ? Impossible to do?

Rx3i Logic import problem
I am using Rx3i CRU320 with PME 8.0 SIM 8. I am facing strange problem i.e. when we import the logic from .xml file, than comparison , timer & logic (AND/OR/XOR etc) blocks are changed e.g. GE_REAL changed as GE_REAL_30, TMR_HUNDS changed as TMR_HUNDS_30. Suffix "_30" is automatically added for above blocks when we import the logic. This problem is appear when we import the logic which is exported by other PME (same version & SIM) installed on other Machine.
Need Urgent Help.

iFix 5.5 as a service and Ctrl+Alt+Del
The e-book states:
"You must assign the Enable Ctrl+Alt+Del application feature to the user that is logged in when iFIX is running as a service. Otherwise if a user logs out of the operating system while iFIX is running as a service, no one will be able to log back in to the operating system."
How do I enable this per Windows user?
Do I need to adjust FixUserPreferences.ini setting?

PDS point update
How often PDS read/write points to PLC?
Is there any configuration?
I update the point in Cimplicity and it goes to PDS -> PLC almost immediately, but in other direction it takes about 2 seconds

Copy Cut Paste of objects from VBA
Hi all,
I'm writing my advanced scripts in order to automate generation of pictures in the configuration mode of Workspace. First of all, I want to make a picture with some objects (like Dynamo) that I'm calling "toolboxPicture" and then reuse them in multiple pictures via VBA scripting. Do you know if there is a way to get the copy-paste feature from VBA scripting? Or something else to clone the objects of the toolboxPage and then paste in other pages in configuration mode?

CimEdit Error 76?
Hi all,
While scripting in CimEdit (cimplicity V8.2) I came across the following error:
"Error 76 in Line 3145: Script is too large to be compiled"
Has anyone else came across this error before; and is there a way to increase the amount of space for scripting?

I have got Cimplicity 8.2 with Full point I/O Runtime Dev. System License. License Viewer shows GE IGS Core drivers "Enabled".
Iam looking for below clarifications on the IGS Installation& licensing
1) Does IGS OPC Server install by default with Cimplicity or need separate installation?
2) What drivers are included in IGS Core drivers?
2) How many OPC Tags are supported under this license?( Does this support 15,000 Tags, which is required in my case?)

AlarmSummary show normal alarms
Does anyone know if there is a way to have an acknowledged alarm stay in the AlarmSummary OCX once it returns to a normal condition, rather than just being removed from the list?
I would like it to maybe change color and have to manually be deleted, rather than just disappearing.
This would be for iFIX v4.5.

Cimplicity 8.2 server failure
my architecture based on cimplicity 8.2 sim 21 with redundant server concept.
its been working since last one year without having any issue
suddenly i got an issue where manual switch over its not taking place FROM secondary to primary
both PC name in gefredunancy.cim showing as secondary server name
let say my primary server name is STL0001
SECONDARY IS STL002
but in a screen its showing primary computer STL002 - SLAVE
secondary computer -STL002 - MASTER
cable redundancy enabled
P.S --> my LAN-B network used to break often
its been working since last one year without having any issue

We are looking to run Runtime applications of both ME PC Control and View on windows tablet.
Together with Client we are yet to select the Tablet, but assume I5 Processor on Surface Pro 2 with Windows 8.1 or similar.
Hoping someone has used or can share experience with PME PC & View Runtime applications using virtualisation VMWARE or other on a windows tablet?

IDS driver fails to read some dynamic links
I have a redundant 5.5 pair using Kepwares OPC driver. The primary server works just fine, and the backup server does on most of the tags. But the backup server, when failed over, doesn't get data from some of the same tags that the primary has no problem with.
The only common issue is that the tags in question are all dynamic, are less than 6 months old and are arrays of Dints. Many other tags of the same type have no problem.
Has anyone seen this problem with IGS (which is rebranded Kepware)? Kepware support is stumped at the moment.

Getting tagname from DB by clicking in a object

I will try to explain what I need. I have a datalink in a picture and when the operator clicks on that, the datasource (tag in DB) of that datalink must be saved in a Global Variable. So I can use this tag for animatios in another picture or popup.
I created de Global Variable and I had tried to use HighlightedDataSource, but I failed. I guess my vb routine is wrong. I don't know how to do. Someone can help me? Thanks in advance.:confused:
