Every since I installed PME 7.0 the PC logic developer is shown in my system tray. Is it actually running, I see no way to stop it or set it up to not start with Windows. I have no use for it as it's unlicensed, I only use PLC developer.

Scan Rate / Retry Count
Question: Does the Retry Count actually do anything?
The reason is that I have a port that I configured for a 5 second scan with a retry count of 10.
If the connection happens to go down just for one second on the five second scan, Cimplicity marks the device as down.
If a retry was actually attempted, the device would never be marked as down.
Can anyone shed light on this one?

Proficy Machine Edition Control Question
We are currently migrating from PME 5.0 to PME 8.0 at the company I work for. Is there some method of setting up a work around so that the "Green Hand" releases control of the project after a set time has elapsed.
This is an issue because with the way the process is set up, there are multiple HMI cabinets scattered around the line. When a maintenance tech leaves a breakdown, if he doesn't turn off the "Green Hand", then it maintains control until released.

Workspace startup opens *.fxg files
Hello!
I am working on iFix3.5 installed on Windows 2000. When I start the workspace a bunch of userfxg files open in vb editor. I need to edit which fxg should be opened on workspace startup. I looked into the startup pictures in user preferences & scanned through all the code of the screens opened on startup but cannot find any line of code thats opening these *.fxg files. Not sure whats going on. Is there an external application thats opening these files? I checked the tasks list in SCU & there is nothing there except workspace. I put a breakpoint on the main screen but all it does is initialize a variable. Its like the fxg files are starting with the workspace but dont know how. Please help!!

IC695ETM001 Modbus TCP client config
I am using IC695ETM001 as Modbus TCP client to read/write data to 8 devices with different IP addresses. I have used the COMMREQ commands, but i have noticed that I have to configure a delay of atleast 2 secs for each device before shifting to the next device. With this config, I require a minimum of 16 secs to read a data from any device. Is this correct or am I making a mistake in the config of COMMREQ? The manual says we can use this module to connect simultaneously to 32 devices. Apart from Modbus TCP, no other protocol is used/configured for IC695ETM001. Any urgent help would be highly appreciated.

I need a I/O driver for iFIX ver 5.8 that can communicate with Yokogawa make Single loop controller SLPC151 model no. This has been communicating with FIX32 ver 5.5 on Windows98. Now the customer wants to upgrade the system to the latest iFIX version. Pls help!!

Problems with webview
Have been having problems with incomplete web view screens when using IE11 on a 64 bit machine.
Problem doesn't exist when browsed to by a 32 bit virtual machine. running IE 6 or
another xp machine running IE8
The knowledge base seems to suggest that its the 64 bit machine or version of IE that is causing this problem.
Any ideas?

The about help doesn't indicate the IE11 is a 64 bit version. Just the OS. Chrome does the same thing.

Error 1914 on Terminal Server
I have a terminal server running version 5.5. I have five scadas that I need to communicate with on this terminal server. The terminal server is communicating with four of these SCADAS just fine. Has been for a very long time. I have added a fifth to the mix recently. The fifth one is the problem child.
The SCADA names are as follows for the problem location:
Logical Node Name: SCADA_1
Primary Node is: PRIMARY
Backup Node is: BACKUP
Computer name for PRIMARY is: DARESCADA1-PC
Computer name for BACKUP is: SCADA_2
I have entered both the node name and computer names in HOSTS on the terminal server.
I have rebooted the terminal server after doing so.
Still receiving the error 1914, according to the Netdiag utility.
I can ping with IP/node name/computer name from the terminal server for these two nodes.
I have even gone so far as adding the Terminal Server node and terminal server computer name to the HOSTS files on PRIMARY and BACKUP.
Anyone have any ideas on what may be happening with these two nodes?

I have enabled Tag-Level security on a few tags in Historian. Historian tools (Admistrator, Excel) do seem to work properly--- i.e. viewing the tagnames themselves, and viewing data for those tags is limited to only the users in the appropriate groups.
However, in Proficy RealTime Information Portal (RTIP) I cannot seem to get that level of security to be respected. Any user seems to be able to see the tags and view the data.
I have a case started with Support, but thought I would post here to see if anyone has successfully implemented a similar setup.
Settings in RTIP: Historian Connection uses wide open connection, historian Admin rights.
Certain Roles in RTIP have more restricted login to Historian Data source (Set up in the Roles and Users section of RTIP Administrator, Data Source for Hist is set for "Use these Credentials" -- set for a user who does NOT have access to those Restricted Historian tags.
When I log in as one of those users with the restricted role, i can still view the tags themselves, and also view data from those restricted tags in a trendchart.
Thanks for any advice.

iFix 4.0 w/Desktop Startup Picture Layout
I'm working on a customer's system that has several different SCADAs using the same set of pictures but different SCADAs are using different layouts (*.lyt) when starting view.exe.

How to read faster then 100ms in OPC Driver?

i want to read my historical data in the historian 5.5 faster then 100msec, but in the OPC driver (ifix5.5) i cannot go faster then 100ms. Is there an other solution or do i have to change the driver? Which driver would do the trick?

iFIX 5.8 Terminal Server on Win 2008 32 bit?
E-books say Windows 2012 Server or Windows 2008 R2 is required.
Is it really so, or is it possible to run the TS on Windows 2008 32bit (not "R2")?
Microsoft TS CAL:s are installed and working.

I am using Cimplicity 8.2 SIM 26.I have upgraded this from Cimplicity 6.0
I am facing the following error when I try to see trending of different configured points.
Process:CV1fd4
Procedure:cor_mutex_acquire
Source:COR_LIB_ERR
Code:1400021
Error message:Unknown mutex type
I am adding multiple pens on my trending screen via scripting.As soon as I call script to add pens this error appears where as in my script I am simply initializing different points and assigning them different Pens.

Failed to create object with alarm history viewer
Hello I have several Win7 Pro 64bit computers running Cimplity 8.2 with SIM 24. On some of them if I try to drop in the alarm history viewer object onto a screen I get the following error: "Failed to create object. Make sure the object is entered in the system registry".
I successfully registered the object with: "regsvr32 cimhistalarmviewer.ocx".
But the error still occurs. Anyone have a solution to this besides re-installing Cimplicity on the affected computers.

Modbus "C" Block Error Codes
Is there a document somewhere that lists the error codes for the RX3i Modbus "C" block available under developer downloads "DD152"?
I have used this block a few times with serial port 2 on a CPU310/CPU315 with no problems and I am using it for the first time with a CPE310 and I am getting the error code "772".
Does anyone have any ideas or know of any differences between CPU310 and CPE310?

How to configure Genius Blocks, besides a hand held device
Hi Forum,
I have Rx3i PLCs with a "Genius Bus Controller" module talking to bunch of Genius blocks.
I was told that, the only way to configure the Genius Blocks is thru a hand held module.
Is there any way to configure Genius Blocks thru Machine Edition? or some software on a PC? There must be a way right?
