UDFB in Proficy
I am new with Proficy.
I have to make a logic to run the pump.
Pump signal like Auto,Trip,Run.
Now I make a logic and I have to call it for All pumps.
Now my problem is how I call in UDFB.I am searching for how to create the user defined Function block.I spend 2 hours but unable to find it?How I create this Block and then Assign the Variables?
Second How I can Create the Called Block Tab.

Two alarm class in the same alarm window
Hi,
I have cimplicity 7.0.
I want to see two diferent alarm class in one alarm window. Both of then of the same project.
I´m trying to do it from projects in Amv control properties.
Is possible this?

Trigger SQT all data
Hello!
It's a very commom and simple necessity. Couriosly we haven't found it anywhere...
We are using iFix 5.5 in Windows Server 2008 - 32bit. We're not using Proficy Historian. Instead, we use Oracle 11g to store all collected data in History tables.
Data received by MBE 7 driver (latest version) goes to PDB database and SQT/SQD triggers them to Oracle.
The problem: SQT only triggers based on VALUES, not EVENTS. Thus, only when the tag value changes it is triggered to Oracle. However, we must send ALL incoming data to Oracle, even if it is the same as previous.
Any simple idea?

MDO block question
I have an MDO type blocvk defined with the scan time set at 0.20 and a duty cycle of 1
the signal is supposed to remain high for 200 ms then go off but it doesnt at the 200 ms interval. I put a datalink on the screen and saw the signal go to a 1 but about 2.4 seconds later it goes to zero. i verified this was a third party trace analyzer. this seemed to work before we added a bunch of signals. Our database now has 48000+ signals. anyone know what may be cause the signal to stay high for so long ?

Alarm Summary
Hi,
I just want to display an alarm every time an AA or AI tag changes, the Alarm Summary only display one (1) alarm with the last value on the tag, how can I change the "Alarm Summary" to display every TAG change, or what I need to do on iFix for this application.

do I need a translation module that maps ordinary machine edition variables into my UDT, and interface with those ordinary machine edition variables in Cimplicity?

during build process, the discrete variables inside my UDTs "cannot be published as External, Change to Internal"
interestingly the non discrete variables can be published as External Read/Write
All discrete or non discrete variables can be published as External Read Only tho

Simulating Control Loop in iFIX
Hi,
I am trying to do a simulation on my stand alone PC using the SIM driver. I want to do a control loop (using the PID or just subtracting a control variable from a setpoint tag) and as long as I do not have a loop, I can simulate whatever I want. But if I have a closed loop, the SW seems to get confused and I get "Bad Data" or just doesnt behave as it should. I am using an AO out with the same address as an AI and based on the AI compared to a setpoint, changing the AO. Is this posiible in the iFIX SIM or do I need some initial condition to get it started?? Also I looked at the Sample program and it does not use the PID and it does not look like they do an actual control loop.

limit Excel add-in to read only?
Is there a way to limit the Excel add-in to only read data?
We have a process guy (Black Belt no less) who is pushing to get to use the add-in for extracting data for reporting purposes. Well we also don't trust him to limit his use to that. Modifying tags could be an issue. He also wants to use this on several (9) PC's in the production area. I am concerned that others will then have access through the Excel add-in.
He says EL Reporter tested works but doesn't function as desired. But no explanation so far as to the issue.
So, any thoughts on read-only?
