Power Supply Failure Diagnostic showing always healthy in Pac8000 SafetyNet

Hello to everyone.

i have Safetynet Pac8000 8851-LC-MT with Controller Carrier 8751-CA-NS which is powered by the Redundant 8913-PS-AC power Supplies. The controller are redundant but at the moment i am using only one A as the other is order process. There's is auto configured tag(see link-2) for the Power Supply Failures. i am using the pair 7 and 8(see link-1) to connect with the AUX pin no 10 on both Power Supplies.The Tag of only controller A is generated as the B is not yet installed. After download when i shut off one power supply the tag value do not change to 0 instead its always 1. Is this a wiring issue of software or am i skipping any step.

Alarms sync iFix Client

Hi,

I am facing a difficulty in alarm synchronization in iFix 5.1 SCADA. The current process data is replicating in the client from SCADA server, but at the same time the Alarm summary in client station is not receiving any alarms while the alarm in server are coming perfectly. I have enabled Alarm Summary services in both server & client and also copied the same host file in both server & client. The alarm area is used as "ALL" areas. Can anyone help me to know any additional setting required to sync the alarm from server to client? I am using Windows Server 2008 R2 in server in SCADA server and Win XP in client station. Is there any setting required in Auto Alarm Manager?

Max-On PLC keycode changes

Hi all,

I am facing problem with Max-On authorization.
Everytime power-recycled the PLC, the keycode (R9011) changed although HWC, logic and initial values were downloaded to flash.

PLC is IC693CPU374-KZ v12.71 and Max-on S\W is standard v2.07.

PLC A setting:
Power Up Mode : Run
Logic/Configuration from : Flash
Registers : RAM
Could anyone help me? Thanks.

Machine edition data collector

Hi All,

Is is possible to connect Historian server with Machine Edition using OPC collector instead using MACHINE EDITION DATA COLLECTOR.

Or this MACHINE EDITION DATA COLLECTOR is inbuilt historian OPC collector for ME

Proficy ME View connection to Compactlogix

Has anyone connected a Proficy View project to a AB Compactlogix L32E controller? I have picked up a modification to an old system and the read communication is very slow, they have used the natice AB TCP/IP driver and selected ControlLogix but I don't think this will work correctly.

I have tried setting up the OPC driver (Allen Bradley ControlLogix Ethernet Channel) but I don't seem to get a link to the PLC.

Any ideas or help on setup would be appriciated.

I am using PME V8.50 SIM11.

Shutting Down Windows

We have our ver5.5 password protected to prevent the operators from roaming outside of iFix. Occasionally there is a need for the operator to shutdown the computer before a scheduled power outage. Is it possible for the operator to initiate a shut down of windows/computer through iFix? If not, how are others handling the computer shutdown and still keep the operator captive to iFix?

ODBC Configuration and VB-Code to retrieve Historical data & save it in an excel-file

Hi all

I want to write script with VBA, for retrieving Historical Data (through ODBC) and saving it in a new created excel-file.
I know only that:
i have to configure ODBC-Connection.
and that i can retrieve Data and save it in an Excel-file with SQL.
but i don't know how!!!?

PME7 hangs when moving windows

Running PMEv7 SIM15 on Windows 7 64bit. When we try to move the windows around (ie Inspector, Companion, Feedback Zone) the screen to reposition them, PME just hangs. We are able to do this on PMEv7 SIM15 on windows XP without any issues.

Tried it on multiple installs of PMEv7 on windows7 64bit - they all hang

Anyone else come across this?

Historian Data Archiver service is in Starting mode, not started

Hi ,

3 days ago, Windows Server machine with Historian 4.0 has stopped "Historian Data Archiver" service, and now we cannot stop or start this service.

When this problem firstly started, this error message was occured on the screen:

Windows could not start the Historian Data Archiver service on <MachineName>
Error 1053: The service did not respond to start or control request in a timely fashion

PS:

1. We found a general solution about services on the Internet. We reconfigured HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\ServicesPipeTimeout

2. in Server Event Viewer:
USER: DataArchiver TOPIC: ServiceControl MSG: DataArchiver(DataArchiver) Archiver shutdown at 06/16/15 04:05:46.486 .

3. in iHistorianSDKErrors.Log file:
16.06.2015 04:06:58-Server::Connect>> Failed to connect to server 'BENBWSHST1'. [Error: API TIMEOUT,-2]
16.06.2015 04:06:58-Server::iHistorian SDK Server Terminating Version: 4.0.176

SetPenDataArray

Hi all

I want to write values witch are saved in a CSV-file to a Pen from the Chart.
this should be possible with the Method SetPenDataArray, and I found an example in the Help witch load data from .mdb file, but this is not the right example for me, because I don't know how to read values from CSV!!?
that means I need a code witch help me to get the values from CSV-File and write it in Pen.
can someone help me please!?

What is B_EGU

Hello everyone.

I have a TGDPICTURE, animated dynamically via TGD. This picture contains data of Flow Computer. I have 4 models of Flow Computers and some data not available in some cases. So, some of objects of this picture are visible or not. (the visibility animations is VBScript - OBJ.VISIBLE = FALSE on event Picture LoadTGD)

The condition is the TAG exists in database. Before i call the picture, i call a script that create a TGD in run-time, and fills the TGD with the TAGs that exists....
If tag does not exist the SUBSTITUTION is "USER:NULL", if exists is the tag "FI_0001".

The animation to get Value of the tag is using a F_CV or A_CV, and others to see Alarm Limits like A_HIHI, A_LOLO, etc.

So... everything works fine, but... after reopen this picture many times, in some rare cases e got a error "1750 (000006d6) NODE."USER:NULL".B_EGU - Tag Name is Not Defined. But if a repite the operation on the same way, no more error.

Ok.. thats correct... the tag "USER:NULL" does not exists. But why the error appears only some times?
And why only on B_EGU????? I don't use B_EGU !!!

I don't find any references about B_EGU on Ifix Ebooks, here on Forum (only 1 thread), or even on GOOGLE!

Please, help me!

VB opens on remote connect/disconnect

I'm having an issue with iFix, we use DameWare mini Remote control to connect remotely to HMIs running iFix.

It doesn't happen all the time, but every once in a while, when connecting or disconnecting to HMI through DameWare, Microsoft Visual Basic Opens. So you can imagine this is a problem when disconnecting from home and the operators end up with a screen with a bunch of code.

I know restarting iFix fixes the problem (for a while, until next time it happens), but would like to know what is causing this and a proper way to fix it. A co-worker says it's a bug in iFix, but I really want to know how to correct it.

Anyone?

IGS and S7 with TCPIP: MPI with multi CPU

Hi all,
I have IGS 7.511.
With IBHlink S7++ I can connect (easily) with different CPU's on a MPI bus.
However I replaced the link with a CP-Lean and would like to again connect to the different CPU's on the MPI bus. The directy connected CPU is simple, running, but I have a CPU with MPI=15 and MPI=20, how do I connect (through IGS) with these?
Netpro and Siemens manager are correct.

I have files on the network share called [hostname]TagGroupStorage.tgs
What are the files used for and what is the effect of deleting them?

I ask because some file mirroring automation I have running routinely deletes these from the common PIC network drive because they don't exist on the development share. I haven't noticed any problem doing this but . . . Its worth asking.

Can we create new user account during SCADA runtime

hi,

i am using IFIX for scada development.I have a question regarding to create user account.

Can we create new user account when scada is in runtime using VB script or any other option. I dont want to open security from workstation ( Workspace ) ie without disturbing runtime. Using buttom fuction in runtime and create user account.

Please suggest.

E Fanuc 90-30 IC693ALG223 Low Value Alarm Fault

I have a GE Fanuc 90-30 plc with multiple IC693ALG223 modules all used in 4-20ma mode. The program for the plc requires the usage of the input low alarm but I have the problem that if I input exactly 4ma the alarm is on, only at around 4.1ma does the alarm go off and I get an analogue reading. This is verified with a test current output by the sensors, and double checked with a multimeter.


The system has been like this for a long time, but I'm changing out some of the sensors for ones that have a slower response time (but greater accuracy) - the new sensors cause the system to trip because their output isn't fast enough.


Is there a method to calibrate these modules? Or change the set point that the low value alarm comes on?


Someone has also put a 250 ohm resistor in series to access the current outputs for high frequency measurement - the measuring device is floating and able to withstand up to 60V common mode voltage though so I don't think that this is influencing anything.
