Redundancy RX3i PLC

Anyone Help me please..:(

I have problem for configuration Redundancy PLC RX3i CRU320 and communication to I/O module rack.

I try to solve the problem until now, I can communication to I/O module via EGD consumed and produced.
But for the redundancy between 2 PLC (Primary and Secondary) is not properly and I think is not redundancy also like a program PLC download to two PLC with copy program.

Anyone please help to download my program and check for me about this thing.

I need someone help to advice or guideline to me how to set the config or give me and a example to set redundancy RX3i PLC.

I try to read a lot of manual form GE support very confuse.
1. PACSystem Hot Standby CPU Redundancy GFK-2308C
2. PACSystems RX7i & RX3i TCPIP Ethernet Communications GFK-2224N

After I checked not sure in my module is use Non-HSB or not, from manual GFK-2224N page no. 25-26 said that is Non-HSB.

Sync Error?

Afternoon all,

After our true implementation and location of both scada servers we are starting to refine our SCADAsync setup/timings.

With a little bit of tinkering and final implementation of our A&E viewer we are noticing a large amounts of the following message --

"SCADASYNC Failed to allocate MSG buffer!"

I tried to do a forum/kb search and have come up with nothing...

Can anyone shed some light on what this error might be?

Hi,

I am using a max-on redundant Rx3i system. As a part of technical improvement policy, I plan to propose a change from max-on redundancy to a hardware redundancy using IC695RMX128 modules. For that proposal, I need some informations. Please help

1.Is there any on site technical support available from GE for max-on redundancy?
2.Is there any online or telephonic technical support available from GE for max-on redundancy?
3.How long max-on technical support will last?
4. What are the benefits of hardware redundancy?
5.What are the drawbacks of max-on redundancy?
6.When this hardware redundancy first introduced by GE?
7.Is there any additional reasons for an end user to shift from max-on redundancy to hardware redundancy?

Updating Dynamos That Have Scripts

I have created a dynamo and within that dynamo there is a script that sets a tag to a certain value. When I place that dynamo on a page it asks for the tag name and I put the new tag name in. All the internal locations that use that tag get the new tag name; however, the tag names in the script do not change.

How can I get the script to either change tag names or at least point to the tag name used when creating the dynamo.

Any help is appreciated.

iFix 5.8 ETR trends take a long time to populate

Hello all.

I recently built a 24 hour trend screen with 4 individual charts for operations. When you first navigate to the page, it can take upwards of 5 minutes before the trends populate. Once populated they work fine. I am curious if it is because of how many data points I have?

Each trend is using an ETR block with an Average Compression of 15, and the AI block has a Scan Time of 10. My chart has 600 data points.

According to my math;
(10 sec scan time ) * (15 sec compression) * (600 points) / 3600 seconds = 25 hours of data, with each point being 2.5 minutes apart.

Any suggestions?

High Sample rate in collectors

Hello,

We are evaluating using historian in our application. I want to know if it possible to sample at 25kSamples in the collectors or which is the maximum sample rate that i can get form collectors.
Is it possible to have a high sample rate in the collector and a low sample rate in the historian client?
Can be the high sample rate store in the collector for a while in a circular buffer so i can get the last data in case of a event in order to analyze the secuense of the failure? ;)

I hope some one have the answer to my questions.

Small pictures performance issue

Hi everybody!

I have an iFix 5.1 system running on Terminal Server 2008 with 12 iTsClients. My problem is that once or twice in a week all of a sudden on a random client node (every time it's different) the smaller popup pictures (every small picture, not just specific ones) get real slow. For example a button's click event takes more than 30 seconds. Sometimes this issue can't be fixed only with logoff remote desktop session and log in again, but sometimes i don't need to do that, everything gets back to normal after a few minutes. I have all the latest sims installed.

Has anybody met similar issues?
Or have you got any idea what might cause this?

Cimplicity 8.2 Partner dead node

Hello,

I have a Cimplicity 8.2 project running in Windows 7 communicating with two redundant CRU320. Communication works correctly even changing from master to backup unit. Then I open the project in another pc with Cimplicity 8.2 and Windows 8.1 and it communicates correctly with plc but, from time to time, communication fails and status log shows the following message:

Partner Dead Node: [PC_NAME] Private Port: MAC_PTM

Any idea? Something to do with Windows Firewall?

iFix 5.8: Databasemanager and FixToHist issue

Hello,
My Setup:
2 iFix servers 5.8 SP1 (Workspace008 and databasemanager002 SIMS)
1 iHistorian server 5.5 SIM 19

I have an issue with databasemanager and FixtoHist.
I use the hirtorical bloc property to setup some tags for collection (5sec interval, Compression On 1%, timeout 3600000ms). I have different kind of blocs: DI/AI/TX/DR/AR/CA
Everything work fine, my selected tags are successfully added to my historian server in my “User” licensed datastore and begin to record as requested.

My issue is that, sometimes, some tags are added automatically to the historian server without never been configured for this purpose. I mean that, in the databasemanager, the historical tab of those blocs stayed with default (free) value. This behaviour occurs after a bloc modification in the database (not linked to) or a failover or after putting my primary server in maintenance mode for a csv import.
In the historian server, they stay with data acquisition disable but they are added and consume a license point! It is not always the same tags or bloc type. I didn't see any info linked to this issue in logs (ALM / ConfigHist, ....)
Also, sometimes, the PDB changes its historical blocs properties by itself. My “Percentage” type compression changes to “Absolute” on lots of tags. Again, this happened after a database modification, a failover or a server reboot.
FixToHist (who managed the modifications replication to the historian server) runs only on my primary server (KB16289).
"Automatically configure tags for collection in historian" option is not checked.
I already tried to recreate the PDB from scratch with a csv export/import, delete historian config and let FixToHist recreate it, reinstall ifix and all SIM on both servers. It didn’t solve the issue.

I've already opened a case with GE but it isn't a success until now.
Any idea would be greatly appreciated.

RX3i Redundancy PLC

Hi,

I need help,
After I use template form GE Redundancy template and follow the procedure manual
from PACSystems ENIU user manual GFK-2439.
But the template doesn't match to my hardware cause of my hardware have only one RMX128 and one EMT001 per Rack and 1 ENIU rack.

The template have minimum 5 ENIU and RMX128,EMT001 more than 2 module.


I have got some problem.When test the program.

Input from ENIU to Main PLC cannot read all data (%I and %AI),but Output can write data from PLC to ENIU (%Q and %AQ).

I check error table in main target PLC is shown bellow msg.

"Application Msg (100) : LOSS ENIU 1"
"Application Mas (100) : LOSS LAN A ETM"

Anybody help to advice, Please..

web link closing unexpectedly

I've been asked to make some cimplicity screen available over the local network as web pages; this is easily done using the built-in web server. However, I've noticed that if I click on a button on the web page that opens a new screen and then closes itself, the link dies. Is there a way round this?

iFix 5.8 VB Crash because of Chart Group Wizard

I've installed 5.8 and when we tried opening a historical trend and it immediately crashes visual basic and give us this: "Compile Error Sub or Function not defined" and it points to the CGW_ApplyFileToChart. I've tried to repair and to a complete uninstall and nothing fixes it.

Error in Batch Client

Proficy Batch Execution Client is showing errors on startup like:
- Could not write entry BatchID of section Batch List View to the initialization file
- Could not write entry Recipe of section Batch List View to the initialization file
- Could not write entry Descript of section Batch List View to the initialization file

What would cause this error? I wasn't able to find anything on this in the KB or on Google. What/where is the ini file referenced in the error?

Webspace iFIX activex control won't install

I've installed ifix 5.8 and webspace 4.7 on a single windows 7 64bit computer.

I can connect to the IIS webspace link via the computer and via another computer however the activex control refuses to download sending me to a blank blue page when I click iFIX.

I've disabled all security and opened up all ActiveX permissions on both PCs with no luck it simply refuses to prompt me to download the control.

How can I force it to install the control?

iFIX Global Tag Group

In iFIX SCADA, I've created one common picture(PIC1) for 5 different tag groups(TG1 to TG5).
In runtime I will opened PIC1 with tag group(TG1) from this same PIC1 I need to open another common picture (PIC2) which will have tags of same tag group TG1.
Can anyone help me to do this.

Webspace - Default node (current) is not a SCAD

Webspace 4.7
iFIX 5.8

Both installed on same PC

I get this error when launching Webspace from firefox

DBBSAVE - Default node (current) is not a SCADA.
DBBSAVE - Unable to set default node, or not a SCADA.

It then fails to connect to the networked SCADA node (on the same PC)

What does this error mean? It seemed to be working the other day but I must have changed something.

SetAnimationContextForOCX not defind

I am using IFIX 5.5 and attempting to use one of the round gauge dynamos. When double clicked, I get the VB error highlighting SetAnimationContextForOCX under the UserForm_Initialize sub. "Sub or Function not defined"

I googled this and was returned with one post from 2011 that had no resolution.
Surely someone has to know about this.

ComboBox shows 1 char per line

I have a combo box on a form that is bound to an input parameter of type object that receives the Indexed result from a GetEquipmentChildren method activity in the workflow. I am seeing values coming into the combo box (or at least the first equip name) but it is showing with 1 character per line in the combo box.

Has anyone seen this before?
