Modbus RTU slave AB Micro830, can't talk to Cimplicity

Hi,

I am working on a project on a process tank in implementing a HMI with cimplicity by using Allen Bradley Micro830 as my plc. I am having some trouble getting my PLC to "talk" to Cimplicity. The protocols settings of cimplicity matches micro830's however, the data is not getting transferred over. Please give me some tips on how to fix this.

Time Sync Procedure on GE 90-30 Using SNTP

Hello,

I am trying to apply a time sync procedure that I have from GE to PC Stations using GE 90-30 Processors. I am using a procedure that involves the creation of a C Block which accounts for daylight savings time and time zone differences between the server and client.

I don't know why, but after making the changes to the logic, taking the CPU offline, and trying to download the logic, the computer and the PLC could not connect anymore. GE Support recommended I increase the Request Timeout in the Project Properties from 16000 to 60000 (I don't remember the units). This solved my connectivity issue. However, why must such a small change be accounted for by increasing the request timeout? Is it big enough of a difference to call for an increase in time?

Also, my register memory is set at around 30,000 while in the procedure it is around 27,000. If the last registers available are being called in the C Block, does it matter if I allocate less memory to my registers or not?

Lastly, my procedure tells me that if the last analog output available, which is assigned an instruction in my C Block Logic, shows a value of "+1," then the C Block is functioning properly. However, I am seeing a value of "+2." What does this mean?

Unable to write to MOVIPLC via MBE

I need to interface an existing iFIX with an SEW MOVIPLC via Modbus TCP/IP.
Admittedly I am a noob to iFIX and MBE.

Using a test application on my pc, I am able to read the modbus database from the MOVIPLC via MBE with no problems, but am unable to write values back to the MOVI.

Datablock1 in MBE has Block Writes Enabled, shows good read quality, displays accurate data, and returns almost no errors.

In the Process Database I configured an AR tag to an address that is successfully being read from the MOVI, and placed a datalink in the picture as a data entry point.

I also configured DO tag "WRITE_DATA" with the I/O address "!Send: DataBlock1", which is tied to a SEND button.

When I run the application, enter a value and press the SEND, I get: "Error -2147187524 Field's Value Not Known" ...and of course no write command (FC16) is issued to the MOVI.

Obviously I am not skilled in the ways of iFIX writes. :(
What do I need to do to successfully write modbus to the MOVIPLC?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

i am using windowsxp with cimplicity7.5 sim11 now the customer has been formatted the pc and changed the os as windows7 ,,,, but now we need to install cimplicity7.5 on the machine but is there any compatibility issue if so how can it be resolved

Global Replace for Mutliple VB Lines

I want find 2 lines of code and replace it with one or multiple lines using the Global Search and Replace. The issue is that there does not seem to be a way to enter a CR or new line in either the Search or Replace text box. This 'click' on these objects is on several pics.

Example:
I want to Find:
OpenPicture "Pop_Check"
End If

and Replace with:
Navigation.DisplayPopUpRight sApplicationPicPath & PicName82.InitialValue, sApplicationPicPath & TagGroupName82.InitialValue, iDisplay

webview server fail

I'm trying to serve up some screens from a Cimplicity project. I've done this before from the same project but today all I get is an error message in the browser window. When I click on the message to get more details, the Java console appears with this message...

Fixbackgroundserver Stops Working but is Running

This is iFix 5.1, all current SIMS, etc installed. It's currently running on XP/sp3, and the system has been running for some time now - probably about 1 year. It was upgraded from a 3.5 version at that time.

I had added in a background task to run once/minute, looking for certain times to come up, that simply opens a picture on the screen as a reminder to operators. This same setup runs in two other systems, same specs as the one above, and runs without fail. However, this one runs for about 20-24 hours, then just stops working. The fixbackgroundserver task is running, no errors in the eventvwr, nothing crashed - but the background server simply stops executing the task. It is setup correctly (same as all the other systems where we use this) - runs every minute, continuous, no end times, etc. I can stop/restart the fixbackgroundserver task, and it will run another 20-24 hours. I dont' know the EXACT time, but it's in that time range.

Any ideas?

in my project i have created two users ,supervisor & operator,,, now for operator role i have removed the right click option even though the screen can be closed either by pressing alt+F4 or "windows key" how can i get rid of this,,,,,

Crystal Reports 8.5 with ifix 3.5, regional settings ?

Hello!

I want to create system report, the same like is in sample system on ifix 3.5 (for reading data from clasic history) the solution in sample system (iFix1_Daily.rpt) is what I need, but I have a problem with non US regional setings on computer.

When I have my computer set to non US regional setings, I recive in report wrong values (problem with decimal and coma seperators), but if I create report with crystal reports software I recive right values. So my opinion is that this is a problem of iFix software. I don't know how to resolve this problem.

Error saving PME Project

I'm using PME 7 SIM13 on Windows 7 Pro.

Whenever I'm trying to save a project, I'm getting an error:

"Error saving project. Machine edition will discard all changes since the last successful save and close the project.

Cause: Unexpected error"

Please help me out of this problem.

I've tried uninstalling and uninstalling PME.

Call function from other scripts using vb.net

We are using VB.Net scripting in CIMPLICITY 8.2
How do I call other sub procedures functions from other scripts I have created.

I tried the DECLARE statment but have not been making any progress.

Here is an example of my DECLARE

DECLARE FUNCTION myfunctionname LIB "c:\scripts\myscript.vb.pscript" ALIAS "realfunctionname" (ByVal myvar1) AS Integer

If anybody has some examples I would greatly appreciate it!

How to assign points on "screens" and track the data in a graph / export into excel

Hi guys,

I am new to cimplicity. I am getting my PLC to talk to my computer via an OPC server and now I am trying to extract the data from the OPC server to cimplicity and display it on the "screen" that I made. How I assign specific points to the graphics that I made and how do I track the changes in a graph / export the data in to an excel spreadsheet? Thanks a lot.

Open iFix picture file through excel vba?

Hi,

Whether it's possible to open iFix picture file (.grf) through excel vba? if so which all reference I need to add in excel vba?

My requirement is to display a pdf file in iFix 5.1 HMI, after excel vba execution. So that I will initialize a webbrowser object embedded in grf file to open that particular pdf file.

Kindly suggest any alternate option

PME 7.5 is not installing in OS windows7 ulimate 32 bit

Dear All,

I am faceing one tipical problem.

When i am installing PME7.5 in my PC some Dot net issue is coming.

I have installed dot net 3.5 through PME CD and still it asking dot net 2.0

Then i try to install dotnet 2.0 it is saying it is already installed.

Iam unable install the PME 7.5

Please help anybody faced same problem.

364 CPU Download Error

Hello,

I'm trying to download a program that was made in VersaPro and opened in a new project in Machine Edition. It is a program to test C-Block Time Sync functionality. I can connect to the PLC using either ethernet or serial, but cannot complete a download using either.

Every time I start a download, it gets halfway through and says, "REF MEMORY ALLOC," then it stops and throws an error code 8097.

Any ideas on how to get this PC to download my program to my PLC?

Cimedit crash on close

Hi, we have problem with Cimedit. If more then one screen in Cimedit is open and one of them is closed, sometimes whole Cimedit crash and unsaved work is lost. It looks like bug in Cimedit. Is there any solution? Thanks.
We're using Cimplicity 8.2 SIM15 on Windows XP SP3 or Windows7 SP1.

Date Format for Web Clients

We have a system with a Webspace server connected to a redundant pair of servers. All machines are iFix 5.5 running on Windows Server 2008 R2 64-Bit.
All machines are set up with Irish style dates, locales etc. The date format is dd/MM/yyyy and this all works fine on the servers.
Some webclients have recently reported that the date format on their machines is set to Irish but showing as US when they log in to iFix. The clients have a mixture of OS, some Win7, some XP.
Until recently they have all been using the same user to get past the 1st Webspace login (i.e. starting an instance of the server) and their own login details to start iFix. In this case everything is working fine.
A few weeks ago they started using their own login details for both Webspace logins and since then the problem has been reported. So there seems to be an issue with the 1st Webspace login setting the date format or local or something to US format.
Any ideas what may be set up wrong?
