IC200EBI001 problem

We have an IC693CPU364 based PLC that is using an IC200EBI001 remote rack for its I/O. This PLC has been out of operation for about 7 years and we have reloaded the PLC and remote rack with the configurations used at that time.

The consumed data (inputs) from the remote rack works but the produced data (outputs) to the remote rack do not. The STAT light on the remote rack is off and we are able to ping the I/P address of the remote rack. The EGD status words in the 90/30 are 1 and resort back to a 1 when reset.

Here's what we have done.
  1. Replaced the output module in question (no change)
  2. Replaced the IC200EBI001 module with a spare that had the firmware updated and checked using a similar configuration on a bench. (the outputs worked on the bench setup but not in the field)
  3. Reset the Ethernet module on the IC693CPU364 (no change)

We converted the 90/30 logic and hardware configuration from Cimplicity Control to ME 7.00 and I have thoroughly checked the EGD setup and could find no problems. Also it worked on the bench. I quess it could be the 90/30 CPU in the field, but I don't see how.

Any help would be appreciated.

Fix32 Contrologix Rslinx 2.59

Trying to open an old project
It was Fix32 talking to a Contrologix L61
using Rslinx. I can not remember the ABR driver setup
and something had to be done in Rslinx

So I have a Channel Named Pulpers
I have a Device Named Span
Primary Channel Setup on Pulpers is AB_ETH-1
which is setup in Rslinx ver 2.59
Enabled check box is set

Span Routing Setup is 1756-GTWY
Device Type PLC5

I am getting API calls timed out error
So what do I not remember

iFix 5.1 alarm greyed out in client

I have a system using iFix 5.1 which has a server and one client. everything runs ok except the alarm summary in the client. alarms display well in server, it can be acknowleged. in Client computer, all the alarms are greyed out, but still updated. all the pics in the client running well.

Hardware key

I have a USB Hardware key called Dongle for ME.
But whenever I try to run ME from another computer by moving dongle, ME show me that "WARNING : Found unregistered target 'QP_12" in project. You can register 'View Developer QuickPanel' by running the product authorization wizard, and following the instructions. Would you like to run authorization wizard now?"

It would be apreciate if somebody can help me.

Downtime+ usage

Good day,

I am trying to open the downtime+ with a preset filter! We would like to avoid having to clreate and apply a filter at each startup!

Is there a way to pas parameter or set value in the xml file to do this?

Also where can the details explanation for Downtime+ be found! There is not much about it in the PA help!

I am using PA 4.4.1

Your help would be appreciated!

EM_RP error

My cimplicity ver(7.5) project has been running fine for a few weeks then i notice i'm getting a EMRP error in my log.


in the log:

at first i though it was something to do with my script so i created an empty project just to see if it will run i get the same error. on the start up screen i would get ' EM_RP Failed' .
i open up the process control
it shows EM_RP halted i try to start the process by clicking "Start Process" and i get **FATAL ERROR** --CREATING PROCESS MAC_EMRP...

this is just weird because this was working for a few weeks. pls help thanks.

Redundancy on Windows Server 2003 CIM 6.1

This is the question:
I formatted 2 servers and I reinstalled again CIM6.1 to both machines
with Windows Server 2003(before they had windows 2000 server).
I install SP6 and follow the step by step checklist. Initially it seemed that was incompatible with WS2003 CIM6.1(notice from readme) but thanks to the SP6 i can install properly(KB9784). http://support.ge-ip.com/support/ind...84&actp=search

The problem is this:
the redundancy still does not work. Does anyone have any advice?

UDT Description and Base-tag Pass through?

Does anyone know if there a way to have a base-tag description pass through to its subtags description? (Similar to Control Logix)

I'm hoping to create variables using UDTs, so that as long as the base-tag description is good, the rest of the pieces fall into place based on the descriptions entered in it's UDT structure.
I hope this question makes sense.

I'm new to GE PPS software. (Just started my first project about a week ago)

Assign Labels to Analogs data value

Hello,
My Name is Jorge im from Chile, this is my first thread so i hope you can understand my english and help me, im working on a project with iFIX 5.5 and i want to assign labels to an Analog data value , im readin a modbus register (MBE Driver) from a GE SR469 Motor Protection Relay.

For example:
Im reading an Unsigned 16 bit Integer register called Cause of last Trip;
When the value is 1 the label must say NO EVENT
When the value is 5 the label must say REMOTE TRIP
When the value is 65 the label must say RTD1 ALARM

Already i know how to read BITs from a analog value and assign labels declaring this as DI block, but i dont know the way of assing labels to a Analog Value...

The final purpose of this is for show the value of the tag in a alarm summary.

CPU Fault Problem

Hii,

We are using PAC8000 system in our control system. We are facing a difficulty in CPU redundancy. Both the CPUs are working well independently. But if we are powering on both controller at once , one cpu remains in fault status. If we are powering on one by one, the CPU which is powered ON first runs well. Kindly help with the issue.

VME64 Migration

I am analyzing the task of migrating from the old BIT3/SBS Technologies Model 618-3 VME/PCI Bus Adapter, running under Windows XP Pro SP3. It appears the current GE-IP product is the VME64 Model 810 (http://www.ge-ip.com/products/io-car...-adapters/c553). The target environment is Windows 7.

Questions:
1) Is the Model 810 the latest upgrade path? Since it was introduced in 2004, I would expect it is nearing its own obsolescence.
2) Is there a Windows 7 driver for the Model 810? The product PDF specifies up to Windows XP, but has not been updated in years.
3) What is the PCI form factor of the Model 810? I.e. PCI/X, PCIe. This has computer specification implications, since it is getting harder to find motherboards with multiple full-size PCI slots.

Firing a digital alarm only if another tag has a precise value ?

Hi,

Here is my problem. My customer has a machine with about 400 possible alarms. Each one is normally linked to a binary address in the PLC memory. Then I created about 400 DA tags linked to those address.

But, there are also some alarms (64 exactly) which may be fire up only if the associated bit is TRUE and if an analog register has a certain value. Let me explain more clearly with an exemple.
Let's say one alarm is called "OVERLOAD ALARM" but it can occurs on motor 1, 2 or 3. Then, "OVERLOAD ALARM" is linked to the address %MW15.7 and I have to look at the value of %MW651 to know which motor is in fault. If %MW651 = 501 then it's motor 1, 502 its motor 2, etc.

At the end, I want to have 3 DA tags called "OVERLOAD ALARM MOTOR 1", "OVERLOAD ALARM MOTOR 2" and "OVERLOAD ALARM MOTOR 3" which are fire up only if the %MW15.7 bit is TRUE and %MW651 = 501, 502 or 503.

I have to do that with the PDB only and I can't find a solution for the moment... Do someone has an idea about this case?

Anytime i try to download to my controller i get the message " Symbolic Identifier found in fix up entry, but not present in SMT".

Does anyone know what could be wrong?

Alarm setproject setup script

hi all

i did setproject setup of alarm under invoke method whenever some button is in the same screen pressed, then alarm will display as per what variable we used to passing . it was working fine

now my issue is there any script from other screen buttons to open the alarm screen and filtering by resource
even i did through some other way around
i send a variable when button pressed to the alarm screen , and i declare var inside the advanced setup

but i need a script to call its properties inside the script

Ifix with BR3 Driver and ControlWave

Does anyone have any experience migrating from the DPC 33XX series of RTU to the Control Wave as the data concentrator for Ifix?

We are using ifix 5.0 / BR3 6.31 / OPENBSI 5.7 SP2_Pacth C / Ethernet from PLC to PC

2 radio frequencies operating at 9600 baud, F#1 with 22 and F2 26 nodes these nodes consist of half control wave micro and the other half a combination of 3330 and a few 3305.

The issue is that when I transfer everything over to the new Control Wave RTU my data quality drops considerably. Instead of updates every 20-60s I start getting data into my database at much longer intervals sometimes 5min+

Anyways, if there are any BR3 experts out there or anyone with any thoughts I'm trying to figure out where the problem is i.e. BR3 or RTU or software etc...

I would appreciate the assistance. I do have my Emerson/Bristol rep working on this as well but so far we haven't figured it out...

SQL server express installation in Proficy Historian 4.5 server cluster

Inorder to retrieve alarms and event history, whether we can install SQL server express in Proficy Historian cluster configuraiton. Int to real conversion error

I just converted a project over from Versa Pro 2.04 to Machine Edition 7.5 and now I have a serious problem with alot of the math conversions. I have a 364 cpu which I had logic that converted the Interger value of R4306 to a real value in registers r801 & r802. Then I am multipling the real number in r801 by 10000.0 and placing it in r803 & r804 which I believe should not be a problem. Here is what the actual logic is doing
R4306 = 2600 as an integer
R801 & R802 = 2600.0 as real
now for the problem when 2600.0 is multiplied by 10000.0 I get a value in
R803 & R804 of 26000002.0

Does anybody have an idea why it worked ok before the software upgrade, which was the only thing that changed in the system?

Has anybody seen this before? I have several rungs through the logic that are doing this same type off conversion for our SCADA system.
