We have a RX7i that lost power to the unit but when power was restored the CPU lost it's memory and IP address. We checked the battery and it tested good even replaced it with a good battery. We had to change the IP address and download the program inorder for the system to work. After talking with GE support and GE repersentatives and the only explaination they could provide was a bad CPU or battery.
This same event occured again a few months later. At this point we checked the backplane and all was good.

Has anyone experience this and/or have a solution?

Hello
I have a GE central PLC RX3i with several distributed I/O RSTI both analog and discrete . The I/O are connected to the PLC by a profinet bus . All the device I/O are in separate VLAN only for control. The problem encoutered is when we have micro disconection on the net , all the remote I/O are losing status and all the system is not under control.
All the configurations have been made to " Hold the last state" however the digital output keep their last state , but we do not success to hold the last state for the analogue outputs !!!!!!!
While we take out the LAN plug from the profinet I/O module STXPNS001, all the status led of the anlogue output are blinking and there is no current or voltage control that get out from the module to the field device in order to keep working even under communication loss !!!
I don't care that the control is not kept but at least the system will continue to run at the last state
Someone encoutered this kind of problem ! please share any soultion :(

I will have a project where I have 6 identical units.
I'm planing on building from scratch unit 1, but I want to know how if somebody has tricks for
building the remaining units.

Modifying the screens from unit 1 to unit x is not a problem (Global Search and replace).

The trick comes when replacing the unit number (which is part of the tag) for all faceplates and TGD files.
I don't want to recreate all TGD files.
I need to find a way to have the unit number be a variable, which can be used inside the
faceplates for animation and scripting.

For example, I will have an animation like:
On the screen:
Fix32.@NODENAME@.01MBA10TC001_XQ01.F_CV
On the faceplate:
Fix32.@NODENAME@.@TAGNAME@.F_CV or Fix32.@NODENAME@.@UNIT@@TAGNAME@.F_CV

The symbols @NODENAME, @UNIT@ and @TAGNAME@ will come from the TGD file.
How can I replace the value of the @UNIT@ symbols in all TGD files for the new unit,
without manually open every single file and do the change (either manually or by script)?

I have about 200+ pictures and I need to find out whether or not about 100 tags exist within those pictures(including scripts) in an efficient manner. The cross-reference tool takes forever on just a single tag, so I was looking for a fast method of searching for strings in pictures and scripts.

I am aware of the method 'FindReplaceinObject' to replace tags across an entire iFix project - as shown in this thread: http://forums.ge-ip.com/showthread.php?t=13298. I am wondering if there is a way to ONLY find, but not replace, in this same way? This function does not notify me if any replacements have been made, so I cannot determine whether or not the string that I enter into this method actually exists in my project. Are there any other functions I can mess around with to do this?

How can one set PAC8000 IP address? Are there any dip switches available on the controller or there is any default ip address. Didn't find anything about it any manual.

Hiii,
Let me tell you background of project:
I have two different Cimplicity8.2 projects A & B fetching data from Duplex 90-70 PLC's from same LAN network.

Project A: Running as local HMI only fetching data from 1 PLC.
Project B : Running as master project fetching data from 5 PLCs

Both the projects have different project names,only have few common screens.

Problem:

When Project B is starting, Project A is getting hang and giving following system Log Error:
Process: W32RTR
Procedure: CRedSocket: Completed Comment
Source: COR_IPC_ERR
Msg: Failed to received connection ID:Invalid ID
Above log is getting repeated.

Any suggestion on this Issue?

Hello everyone!

I have a problem. iFixOPCAESrv.exe service takes up to 50 percent of CPU time. It started 2 weeks ago. This leads to 100% CPU. As a result, clients lose connection to the server and all hangs.
Install the latest SIM-s is not helped. If I kill iFixOPCAESrv.ehe service, the server is running at 50% load with no errors.
Which can be done?

i want to use a (.Net) listview or a datagrid in a Cimplicity screen.

at the moment a use a OLE ListBox but i want to use the new .Net components...

Has anyone a example for the use of a .Net ListView or DataGrid in a Cimplicity Screen?

With the OpenTGDPicture subroutine, I can specify new New Instance property, to allow to open more that one instance of the picture.

That's fine, but how can I prevent an operator to open the same TGD picture more than once, for the same analog value indication, for example?

Any idea?

Hi, I have some pop-up screens in my project that are being pushed back eventhough their AlwaysOnTop property is set to True (in the screen Property Window). I was thinking of adding this vb code on screen initialize but dont want to set the object to Application.ActiveWindow since the screen I want on top may or may not be the active window.

Dim objWin As Object
Set objWin = Application.ActiveWindow
objWin.AlwaysOnTop = True

I want to address the ActiveWindow by name like I do for openpicture "screen1.grf" or closepicture "screen1.grf"

How can I set the object to the screen name & not just ActiveWindow?

I am possibly adding another Runtime system. The quote was for version 9.0, but at this time all of my other systems are 8.2.

Does anyone know if a license key purchased for version 9.0 will work if version 8.2 is installed?

LM 90 30 CPU350 keeps registering these errors: "Comm_req-Bad ID programmed" on rack 0 slot 4 (CMM311) and rack 0 slot 3(cmm 311)
Also getting the error:"Reset of,addition of,or extra option module" on rack 0 slot 2 which is PCM301
Final error with "mailbox queue full_comm req aborted"

What are the causes of these errors:
1.Comm_req-Bad ID
2.Reset of,addition of,or extra module option module
3.Mailbox queue full - comm req aborted

I have recently upgraded my Cimplicity from 7.5 to 8.0 with no major issues on a backup system.
We just got a global care agreement which gave us newer software so I decided to upgrade from 8.0 to 8.2. With this upgrade my alarm history no longer works. I get 2 errors MAC_PTDL and MAC_DL has lost data base connections in the alarm viewer.
I assume there are problems with SQL data base. The Cimplicity upgrade changed it to vers 2008 from 2005.
The server is 2003.
Any ideas?

Is it possible to lock a popup screen window in its place during run mode? I turned TitleBar property to False but I am looking for a way to show the titlebar & still the user should not be able to drag the window around. I looked up "dock" in iFix manuals but all I could find was docking related to toolbars. I want to do this as a quick fix so that users will not be able to click any objects in the main screen running in the background. Trying to avoid defining a user global & enabling/disabling mainscreen objects based on popscreeen closed/open. Dont want to change the entire project at this point.

Thanks for any help. Let me know if anyone was able to implement this. I have only a select few pop-up window screens & it would be easier for me to change just these (dont want to make them full-screen either in order to hide the mainscreen objects). I want them to still look like windows but fixated at one position in run mode.

We have a CPE305 in which the engineer set the IP address and then left the company. We do not have a clue even to what subnet he set it. I did a RDSD upload of system with a known address and downloaded it to this system. It did not help. Any other ideas?

Currently running Cimplicity 8.0 to manage multiple Facility Monitoring PLCs most of which are GE 90-30 and 90-70s. We have two Versa Max micros monitoring status on two smaller facilities. We are using the PLC Ethernet Option Module set up per GFK-2436E. I am convinced the hardware is fine by the fact that the VersaMAx micro's communicate and stay online sometime for months.

Every now and then though, the Micros stop passing data. Without going down to the offending device I can get it back online by Stopping and Starting the Cimplicity Project. I do not need to perform any kind of reset on the unit or cycle power. We have been trying to trap the trigger and have noticed that we can create the 'freeze' by disconnecting the network cable at the Versa Max. I think that there may be a power issue affecting the network but why is it just the VersaMax Micros that don't come back online without intervention?

I was pursuing the hardware side as a Versamax problem but am now convinced I have something amiss in Cimplicity.

Hi guys, I'm probabkly missing something simple here, but I have around 30 points I'd like to monitor, they are life check points for equipment, so every second their total increases by 1.

I'd like to represent them as maybe green squares when they are counting , but if they stop a red square.

No matter what I try I can't get what I want, am I missing something simple here?
