Cimplicity 9.0 issues need urgent help
1. What are the ways to configure time synchronization between CIMPLICITY 9.0 and external system (Preferably SCADA which is connected to TIME Sync server already). At present I am not aware whether CIMPLICITY 9.0 takes time from OS on which it is installed or we can also configure the time synchronization between CIMPLICITY 9.0 and other device such as PAC 8000 GE RTU or SCADA.
2. While changing MASTER / STANDBY of GE PAC 8000 controller 1 to GE PAC 8000 controller 2 or vice versa CIMPLICITY 9.0 HMI goes out communication and screens appear as black color. How to fix this problem? [ Note: CIMPLICITY 9.0 is communicating with PAC 8000 RTU on MODBUS TCP/IP]
3. We need cable redundancy between CIMPLICITY HMI machine and PAC 8000 RTU controller. We have connected two physical cables (CAT 6) in the HMI machine and we have given two IP address but in CIMPLICITY we have seen only one IP address can be configured. Please suggest how to configure the physical cable redundancy on two IP's means if one cable fails ( one IP) then CIMPLICITY shall automatically switch over to second IP and communication shall not be lost between CIMPLICITY and RTU.
4. Trending for analog signals are not getting logged , please advise how to configure the historian for trending of analog signals.
5. In the CIMPLICITY 9.0 HMI , we have total three users Admin, operator and viewer, the requirement of client is to have automatic start of viewer mode while HMI machine is switch ON. To elaborate more on this when HMI machine is switched ON only CIMPLICITY Viewer mode shall appear in the machine directly without any intervention. Please suggest how to configure this facility.
6. We have designed the POP UP for valves, but we have actually created a .cim file of how the POP up should be and then linked to the Valve. But when we click on Valve it opens a pop up which looks like a minimized CIMPLICITY page. We want the POP up with having any border around it or which shall not look like a minimized page of CIMPLICITY. Pop up shall be without having window type border around it. Please guide on making the standard pop up in CIMPLICITY 9.0

Dual IP adress?
Is it possible to have two IP addresses on a PLC by adding an extra comm module?
We are looking into having the Ethernet network to our remote locations backed up by a Radio network and we would need two different IP addresses that pull the same Data from the PLCs.

Cimplicity upgrade issue

I have upgraded my Cimplicity SCADA software the upgradation was successful and I followed one manual that was sent from you in which the upgradation steps were defined. The previous system consisted applicom card and OPC server because the PLC is of Siemens and SCADA is of GE now in the newer version i.e.8.2 GE is not supporting applicom any more so we also had to change the OPC server as well.
My issue is with the addresses that contain offset and data type BOOL. Because of this address offset I am not able to find the exact bit that represents the particular address that is mapped in SCADA. Now when I change the address and give the address of my OPC scout here the Address offset columns becomes inaccessible why is it like this can you help me out in this scenario…

Web Browser object does not load unless screen is opened in CimEdit

[Cimplicity Version 9.00 (Build 23763)]
I have a popup screen that consists of only a Web Browser object (Microsoft Web Browser) and a button that closes the popup. I use this screen for accessing the web interface of some equipment. I use the Web Browser's Navigate method in the Screen Open event to load the web interface.
Problem goes like this:
1: I open the popup (using a button in another screen) - the web browser loads the web interface and everything works well.
2: I close the popup.
3: I repeat step 1, but now the web browser does not seem to load the web interface. Only the "Close" button is visible in the popup screen, but I see the "Highlight cursor" when moving the mouse to the area where the web browser is located.
I tried adding another button to the popup screen to manually run the Navigate method, but that did not work either.
What makes this even weirder is that if I have the popup screen opened in CimEdit, the problem does not occur ( I can open and close the popup and the web browser loads every time).
I have a feeling that this is a Cimplicity bug, but I wanted to check here if anyone has experienced this situation and know a fix for it.

.Net Component Issues, not displaying properties, not getting events
Hi all,
We have created our own C# .Net component for use within iFIX:
The project is set up as recommended by Microsoft http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/c3fd4a20.aspx (The Register for COM Interop property is checked)
The .Net Component inherits from Button, part of the System.Windows.Forms namespace
We then build this project and deploy to iFIX 5.8 by putting it in the DotNet Components folder in it's program files.
When we insert the button onto the screen, none of the properties are displayed in the properties window, but "MyProperty" is available to get and set from code. Also none of the events are available, so for example we can't create a click event against the button.
Does anyone have any experience of using COM with .Net? Where are we going wrong?
is there anything on the iFIX side that might need changing?

Accessing Cimplicity HMI OPC Server from remote node
:confused:Iam using Cimplicity 8.2 on Windows-7. I want to connect to the Cimplcity HMI OPC Server on this Computer from a remote computer with standard OPC client Tool. I couldn't succeed after trying some procedure like decom config. Is there a step by step guide or document to get connected? :(

QP+ ASCII Control Driver
Does anyone have any example code for using the ASCII control driver for receiving an incoming string variable 50 characters long. I seem to be having difficult time configuring the ASCII blocks correctly. I know I can use the View scripting for this, but my project may be more suitable for using this control driver if it will work. Was hoping to find someone that has used this control driver in this way.

IC755CSS15CDA doesn't communicate
I am trying to communicate between the IC755CSS15CDA and RX3i PLC rack via an ethernet module (IC695ETM001) on the main rack. I have the PLC hardware configured with a program installed on it. The HMI also has a program installed on it. The IP of the ETM001 matches that of the native driver on the HMI target. I was able to ping both PLC and HMI via the ETM001 so I know they are both reachable on the network. The reason why I don't think they are communicating is because the inputs on the PLC don't match with the indication on the HMI. I verified that the tags on the HMI match that of the ones on the PLC. Would anyone have any insight as to how to approach this issue?

Changing Collector
Our client has a plant Historian (ver 4.0) that has been running for four years and using the local iFix collectors to collect data across the plant and four remote sites.
They now want to install a local iFix and Historian (Historian for SCADA 5.5) setup at each of the four remote sites to collect data from the local remote sites only. Then using the server to server distributor collector, move the data for those remote sites to the main plant Historian. If there is ever a communication drop between the main plant and the remote sites, there will still be local collection.
The trick is that the main plant Historian has already been collecting data from those remote sites with the local iFix collectors. When I use the server to server distributor collector, I'm creating a new tag in the plant Historian. Therefore there are two duplicate tags (in that they are both collecting the same IO, the difference is the node name prefix).
What I want to do is within the plant Historian is to switch where the tag gets its data from (change from the main plant iFix collector to the remote plant distributor collector), thereby not having duplicate tag collection and all the trends will not need to be modified. Is this possible?

Point view in Script
Hi,
Our customer want to save current screen's parameters to database.
I plan to do it this way,
1. Get all the point's name which used in current screen (like "Point View") to an array
2. Get point value according to step 1's array
3. Save point name and value to database.
Is that possible to achieve Step 1? and how?

How to change conformance value Target, Reject, warning to other language

We are calculating conformance using model "Event Conformance\Test Conformance Complete".
When the variable value is out of specifications the conformance status in the display is changed to Reject, Warning and Target
Is there any way to display Conformance status in other language?

IFIX screen saver / auto-logout on a terminal server session
I tried calling the support line only to find out they are closed for the holidays. Yes, the holidays in which big industry typically has their shutdown periods for service and maintenance.
Anyway, I am working on a SCADA, IFIX 4.0, and attempting to implement an auto-logout through use of the IFIX screen saver on the Windows Server 2003 Terminal server. I found this knowledgebase article (http://support.ge-ip.com/support/ind...542fb3c3007ef6) and enabled the things as specified in the article. I enabled the screen saver, changed the name to iFixScreenSaver.scr and made the timeout 60 seconds for testing purposes.
I then rebooted the terminal server. The problem is that the screensaver never gets enabled on the client session, and thus never logs out.
Any ideas?

Quick Trends and Historical Data

I'm having some trouble using Quick Trends with historical data. I have Cimplicity 8.2 with SIM 28.
When on the primary or secondary server, Quick Trends shows historical data. I just have to pick a point that is being logged by Database Logger (I don't have Historian) and it shows values since the server startup.
But on Viewers, I only get current values. Is it possible to use Quick Trends to plot historical data on Viewers? I saw this post http://forums.ge-ip.com/showthread.php?t=18740, where johnferdi1984 says it works for him.
On this issue, I don't have Historian Client Tools installed (when I installed Cimplicity it complained about not having the installer for it). Could it be the problem?

Historian 5.5 not working
Hello everyone!
I have Historian 5.5 with SIM14. The service is running but I can not connect to Historian with Historian administrator and when I try to read data from tags I get the mesage that there is no connection. License is OK.
I have tryed to restart the service, restart the computer and nothing help's.
Historian was working before (few days ago) but now I do not know what is wrong.
What can I do now?

I have problem with starting ifix collector on computer without admin rights (all other ifix application starting successfully without admin rights).
Now i starting collector with ifix under Task Configuration with "runasdos" in the Command Line field.
Running ifix application as service is not option in this moment.

How do I recover a license ? Stolen Laptop
