Could not Resolve DLL Function Address and Other Error messages

For some reason iFIX 5.0 won't start up on Windows 7 . I just get an error saying "Could not Resolve DLL Function Address". Not the most helpful or informative error message I've received. Does anyone have any idea what's wrong?

I also have a problem with the "User not registered within Security" error message. Of course iFIX won't do anything sensible like letting me access the security config tool to sort it out. Again, does anyone have any ideas?

Finally, I can't shut down iFIX because I'm don't have the required security privilege. And yet again, does anyone have any ideas? Or any idea why we all continue to use this software?
