Tags not displaying: DBCVT can't convert file?
Basically, iFix will open and all the tags will display if I run it in DEMO mode. Closing and switching to runtime mode leaves me with all the tags displaying asterisks: ***
When I open iFix in runtime mode, I get an error:
"ERROR-9016: Errors occurred during database conversion. For more information refer to the error file"
I look in the error file and it gives me some not particularly helpful information:
"ERROR-9009: Database version is not supported by this conversion program"
I have backups of the PDB folder, if I restore it, I can open iFix in runtime mode. If I ever open it in the demo mode again, it gets corrupted.
I've tried running DBCVT.exe while iFix was running, it just flashes and then closes.
If I open iFix with the "corrupted" PDB file(s) in DEMO mode, it will start up with no errors and display all my tags perfectly.
This project was previously on iFix 5.0, but I had no trouble upgrading to 5.5 on a machine with identical hardware and the same exact project files/configuration.
I'm at a complete loss here, ANY suggestions would be a huge help!

I tried repair iFix, and that was a complete failure. It wouldn't register a couple of DLL files upon restarting. So, I uninstalled iFix and related components before reinstalling. The reinstall was successful, but I'm still having the problem described above.
I also tried disabling DBCVT.exe in the FIX.ini file. I no longer get the error 9016 popup when I start iFix, but I still get asterisks. I re-enabled it.

I just copied the working project from the sister system and it gets the same error when I try to open it on this problematic, second machine.

UDT datatypes in the calculation collector
If I use the calculation collector to populate a historised UDT data type how do I set the values?
Do you need to use the DataAdd function for each UDT member?
Or can you define the Result variable as the equivalent UDT in vba.

Webspace and PHA
I looked for the proper forum for this but nothing matched the names.
I an giving webspace a try, got the disks, installed iFix and installed Webspace. I can connect to the portal using the admin logon creds, but its then followed by a blank screen.
2 things I know are not correct
I don't have a demo license for Webspace, I assumed it would work for 2 hours like other apps.
I didn't set up security yet.
Will either of these things keep this from working or should I be looking elsewhere?
I also will be installing PHA once the HTML5 version is ready. Any barnacles I need to keep in mind when that application gets added?

Struggling Setting Up Simple Tag
iHist4.5, I want to detect if a DI tag has changed states and save the value. When looking at the last 10 values I expect to see a date/time stamp and value only if the state changes. However I am seeing several postings with the same value and the date/time stamp incremented by a second. I have the collector compression enable, using .5 absolute. Any thoughts? Thanks

Excel Add-in What & Where Is It?
I have read some questions involving Excel Add-In on the forum. Now I need to understand the basics such as where is it used, where do you get, etc. I have Historian on my 5.5 iFix disk. Is this a watered down version of Historian that does not have or support the Excel Add-in? Thanks for your patience.

Deleting Data from Calculated points
When creating data in calculated points you may decide to change you sampling period.
How do you go about deleting data from the historian?
I tried the query below in OLEDB/SQLServer.
It seems the iHistorian provider doesn't support deleting.
Am I doing this wrong? Is there another way of deleting data?

In Historian 4.5
We would like to calculate some points through a complex calculation. Each calculation may calculate 5-10 other points.
We can run the same calculation for each calculated datapoint or we can run it once and then use addData() to add the data to other historian tags.
How would we create a historian tag that is only updated through the addData interface?
A calculated tag with no calculation?
A calculated tag without a Result and Quality assignment?
Something else?

MBE and Socomec
I am trying to communicate using the MBE driver to a Socomec Diris A40 Kwhr meter, the starting address is 50780 which presents a small problem as Modbus starts with a 4. So I have used 450780 which I do not know if that is correct but I am still have comms errors "Remote node reported an error: Gateway target device failed to respond (Exception code 11)" I get plenty of transmitts but no receives.

Functions Press/Release on Push Button
Hello everyone!
I'm able to add a click event on a button in order to change the value of the tag but is it possible to change the value of that tag when I "press" the button (0 -> 1 ) and change it again when I relesae the button (1 -> 0)?
I have not seen a function to do this and I can't "cut" the click event in two parts. ^^

Bad data quality on a good tag
I have this one particular tag that gives me ???? for value in the database manager, and in the OPC driver, it shows BAD quality with server type UNKNOWN. The tag clearly exists in the PLC and the other tags in the same array load fine. It is just this one data point, which is a SINT.
The OPC driver is setup for SERVER under requested datatype, as are all of the items. I tried removing it from the OPC, tag database, restarting IFIX, restarting PC, restarting RSLINX, yet all of the tags work except this one.
I can't make any sense of it.

New computer issues
A client of mine had to replace a computer due to a hard drive failure. It was running Windows XP and Proficy Machine Edition View. We installed Machine Edition and set the IP address on the replacement computer. We can ping the IP address but when we try to download and start the View runtime on it, the Machine Edition development system fails to connect and gives an error code 6104. The Machine Edition development system is on a computer running XP while the replacement computer is running Windows 7. Machine Edition version is 7.0
Any ideas why the development computer can't connect?

Model picture for all my project
Hello,
In my project, I have the same buttons at the bottom and the top of all the pictures, which of course the same effect.
I have tried to create picture with the predefined configuration (main, header footer)but I have noticed that the wizard creates not one header and footer of all tthe pictures but each time a header and a footer.
Is it possible to create a unique header and footer for the project, in order to only create the "center" of the picture?

Unable to Build objects if added event in class
Hi,
I'm having some issues trying to add event in class which build form PPS CM template.
It is working fine without any event.
But after added an event, i can't build objects in "object build". an error appear :

Does anyone have any advice on this?

Setting Up Tag
What is the difference between setting up a tag using the historian in the database manager to set the compression vrs the iHistorian Administrator? I have read several postings for logging a digital tag only when the value changes. As of now I am getting the same results as others in that I am logging data every second. I have tried various combinations of deadband values, times, etc. I have read the unsolicited poll does not work in iFix Collector, etc. I am using Proficy Historian 4.5 and several of the posts refer to earlier versions. These are older posts and was wondering has this ever been figured out? Thanks in advance. :confused:

Datalink Raw Format - Display Hex
